    My New GPS Setup

Funny, I was just looking at SAE to USB adapters so that I could use my dashcam on the bike occasionally. That's a slick setup for using the phone as GPS. Nicely done.

4th puncture this year!!!! help me

perhaps you could take 2 push brooms and attach them to the front forks in a V configuration to sweep debris away from the tires while you ride? Kind of a 2-wheeled street sweeper. :-) Sorry, it's nearly 5pm on a Friday and my brain is bored.

So embarrassing. Didn't know how to start a car.

I did the same thing last year in Arizona. After 5-10 minutes of cursing at the car, I happened to put my foot on the brake and hit start. (after at least twice having my foot on the brake and apparently turning it off with the same button (the car, not the engine))

    Sand and turns..

I'm going to agree with Erci here. Regardless of how much you want to ride it to work tomorrow, I'd spend a few days doing neighborhood rides and spending a bit of time in a big empty parking lot going back through the BRC skills. I do that every year at the beginning of the riding season as I...

Tank Pad for for all Black FZ6

I also use mine to protect from my zipper. As for placement, I sat on the bike and leaned forward to see where my zipper would contact - and made sure that area was covered. Mine is a really dark grey and blends in just enough.

Older riders with the FZ6(first post)

43 here, bought the FZ6 shortly after my 39th birthday (as I finally felt I was mature enough to not do stupid things on a bike). It was my first bike and I've felt no need to replace it. It does everything I need it to do - though for me, its mostly a weekend toy with some canyon rides and a...

Ashamed, can't get stripped oil filter off

since this thread is all about oil filter fun - I'll throw out a story. Years ago I rebuilt the 302 in my '94 Mustang to a 331 with heads, cam, intake, blower, et cetera. After breaking in the engine, I went to do the first oil change to get all the "gunk" out. Low and behold, a freshly...

Ashamed, can't get stripped oil filter off

I did basically the same thing the first time I removed mine - I ended up using a filter wrench and "shimming" it with torn up business cards to make it so tight a fit that I had to tap it on with a hammer - that allowed me to use a nice long socket wrench to remove it. Without the shims, it...

When you sell a bike, do you allow test rides?

Its kinda sad that the world has gotten to this point. As a buyer, I'd be equally worried that I just handed over full price for a bike to test ride and I'd come back to find no one there and me sitting on a stolen bike. So I think the key is "weed out the jokers" and make sure they're...

My 61 year old mom got a bike!

That's awesome! When I took my MSF course, there was a group of 4 women that were 60+ who had all decided to come and take the class together. All 4 of them passed and one of them kicked everyone's butts in the figure-8. Most of us squeaked by with inches to spare - she was probably 3'...

For those that workout, what's your routine?

Tuesdays/Thursdays: 2hrs of rock climbing. Other 5 days of the week: 4-5 miles of trying to slow down 2 pitbulls on leashes.

    Stuck oil filter

as much as the big plastic filter wrenches are normally useless, I found that if you 'shim it' a bit (I used some old business cards) such that you have to tap the wrench onto the filter with a hammer, it had more than enough grip to remove the filter with a good sized socket wrench. That...

    675R vs ZX6R vs GSXR 750

Based on the video, I'd be hard pressed not to get the GXR750 as they all were quite comparable and that's a huge savings in terms of the 3 you're looking at. GXR parts are plentiful, so you'd have $$ to mod and spend elsewhere. That said, if they were all the same price, I'd pick the...

WTB 08 tail bracket support, big U shape see pic

IIRC, I cut a small "v" into mine and that allowed me to bend it the way I needed to. I'll try to snap a pic later.
