Glad it was just a battery. Still on my original battery after 10 years, never been on a charger, just ride it year round. I'll keep an eye on the display when starting. Starts fine, but I suspect the battery won't last forever.
We trailered our bikes from MA last July, ran 300 miles of twisties every day. The dragon was part of our ride every day and it was a great. All the roads are incredible around there. We were on Moonshiners 28 and followed a detour sign due to road construction (didn't really need to) and I...
My son is 16, and currently taking his driving lessons. We live in the suburbs and it's a 5-10 mile ride to anywhere we need to go. My wife got a new bike a few months ago, and my son is loving the old ninja 500. He wears everything but riding pants and has several thousand miles experience...
I'm guilty of riding in jeans often, but I usually ride geared up as in this July photo from the Dragon. It's not always comfortable, but as stated by others, I'd rather sweat than bleed. I work with someone who's son crashed at around 25-30MPH Wednesday with sneakers on. Besides shattering his...
I usually wave to Harley riders, but I won't wave to scooter riders. My wife just picked up a sportster, so I'll have to take that out and see who waves to me.
I have one, cable is attached to the battery, but have never used it. But I did wire up a 12v outlet that I plug in so I can use my GPS on the bike. 07 with original battery, never needed to bump start yet. I don't really put the bike away for the winter. I think the coldest I've ridden to...
I've been riding off and on since 1985. 14,500 on the 07 FZ6, 5000+ on my wifes 2003 XT225. I ride her 2006 Ninja500 when it might rain. I used to ride her ninja 250 alot when she had that. Had a 1981 Honda 750K, and started on a 1982 nighthawk 450, not sure hom many miles I put on the older...
Try talking (or leaving a note) to the drivers that park there, explain that you're worried that someone may not see the bike and drive into it/back into it. If they realize there is a valid reason for you to park in a designated area for a reason, they may respect it.
Welcome to you and some of the new Boston/MA members. Love my 07, can't really say if an 04 is much different. We'll need to get a Boston group ride together soon, if not next spring. (I'll ride until there is snow on the road.)
Not a fan of too much technology in a car. Can't wait for a "park assist" car to hit someone and have the driver claim it's not their fault. another thing that scares me, driverless cars.
