I recently bought a 2006 FZ6 with 1,500 miles on it, and assume because of this it has been sitting for a while. After riding for about 30 minutes, I gunned the throttle open hard. The motorcycle acted as if it were going to speed up, but then experienced bogging and began to slow down, even though the throttle was still open. Upon releasing the throttle to what i use it at normally, it caught right back on and sped up again. After testing this numerous time and experiencing the same effect, i decided that possibly the fuel was sloshing around the pick up too much(fuel level at 2 bars, or approximately 1/4 tank). After visiting the local gas station and fueling up, I immediately noticed that the gas gauge had only gone up one bar (now at 3 bars, even though tank is full). Despite this, i took the motorcycle back on the road to test for the bogging issue again. When throttle is slammed open this time, the bike takes off like it normally would. I forgot to look at how much gas i put in the motorcycle, but i know didnt seem like it was empty because it didnt take long to fill and my trip meter only read 109 miles for that trip so far. There is some rust on the immediate inside of the gas tank that i can see as i fill it. I first suspected that the fuel filter may be clogged. I looked at diagrams of the fuel system and cannot find a fuel filter, however one is referenced later on in the manual. Thoughts on the matter please?
Edit 1: Forgot to add, this was not the first time riding this since buying it. Ive already ridden through about 2 tanks of gas on it.
