If it's flashing your high beams, then no......but if it's blinkers, then yes.....but I'm not going to vote until I am not confused..

Do you mean flash your bright light at them? If thats what you mean, I just make sure they have no choice in being passed, check over the shoulder and get after it.

So now you can edit your poll and make a new option; I don't have a pass switch, I have an american model.

It used to be common practice over here in the UK to operate the pass light just before an overtaking manouver. I'm not sure it's as commonplace these days.

If the guy in front hasn't noticed 110 watts of headlight (assuming you've done the dual headlight mod) in his rear view mirror, he's hardly likely to notice 115 w.

Older bikers tend to use it as a universal greeting for other bikers, rather than waving. I struggle to remember where the damn button is. Challenge for this weekend - practice flashing pass light.

It just flashes your high beam so u can get the attention of the car u are about to over take i guess

Here in the states, and probably Canada as well, flashing high beams or turning on the headlights on and off by the vehicle that is being passed indicates the "passee" that it's clear to enter back into the lane. This is primarily used by commercial trucks, buses, Rv's, or vehicles that are pulling any type of trailor that can't utilize a rear view mirror and have to rely on their side mirrors. And in return, the "passee" flashes their clearance lights or four ways (hazards) to acknowledge and thank the vehicle in which they just passed. It's a form of communication.

To clarify to those that are unfamiliar with this, it's really a handy option. It's just like a trigger, but it bounces back quickly so you can "click" it rather rapidly, and therefore flash your highbeam rather rapidly. Also, here in the states, if you flash the vehicle in front of you, they're more likely to get pi$$ed of and slam on their brakes before they'd ever just move out of your way and let you pass... But even though the U.S. FZ6's don't have this switch, a lot of the Suzuki bikes do. I know for sure the GSX-R 600 has had it since '07 but I don't know of any other makes that do.:)

Same in the UK, and most European countries bar France (where it means 'I'm coming through get out of my way'). I would never flash my light when overtaking as it would give the wrong impression and the other person might think I'm giving them right-of-way. I sometimes use it when filtering through traffic instead of the high-beam switch, but wouldn't flash it, I just hold it on till I'm passed the car that looks like it might change lanes without looking.

In UK its used to let large vehicles who are overtaking you that it is safe to move back in to lane.
A lot of drivers use it as an acknowledgement to another road user who has done something like given way and also despite government advice to the contrary to allow another road user to perform a manouvre such as turning across your path.
The highway code only says that you should use it to warn other road users of your presence.

Its the high beam flash on the left handle bar switch. In the UK and other parts is called the pass signal and is sometimes marked as such. Technically in the UK it is illegal to flash your lights to move some one out of your path (aggressive driving). Most people use the function to allow drivers out of junctions ect or into their lane. As has been described, I did use it on one ride to get through the traffic. I then saw a guy in a black Merc tailgating and flashing his lights. He looked like a real wanker (so did I ) so I dont do it.
