Ok, so I live in harford county MD. Just about 20 min north of baltimore. Its a lovely place. Until this year.

Many have been watching on the news the levels of snow we have been getting. Its absolutely ridiculous. Its actually scary. We are currently under a blizzard warning which the news is saying is the same impact as a level 2 hurricane. Saturday we got 28 inches of snow. (give or take an inch depending on location in MD) today (wed) we woke up to an additional 10-20 inches (depending on location) this is on top of the 26 inches of snow we got right before christmas. So far we have blown away the record for most snow fall ever in MD in a single winter. I think we are tied for the highest snow fall in a single storm.

I just started my job for Harford County public schools, so im actually loving it. I had a half day on friday, and so far every day off this week, along with tomorrow. My wife is a teacher as well, so she has been home too.

Enough talk, here are some pics to back me up.

Read about it here on Wiki, yes, someone actually already posted the blizzard of 2010 in wiki...

Some of these photos are from sat, some are from just a few min ago.

This is what we woke up to sat morning.

Here is a pic from me shoveling it off AGAIN today, (afraid the weight was going to take the whole table down, also had to shovel off the deck both sat and today)

Here is a pic i took sat (21 inches) i was afriad to let any more weight get on there, so i shoveled everything off, we got an additional 7 inches after.

Here is a pic of our fence out back. It has about 6 or 7 inches of snow drifted OVER it.

Here is a pic looking out my basement door, this is how much snow has BLOWN BELOW the deck. atleast 2 inches on the table and chair is 100% blown snow. you can see how i had to climb my way down the steps, that was tricky.

Here is when i shoveled first thing on sat, i didnt want it to get too high and be totally back breaking, little did i know it was already 21 inches and back breaking...

all and all i would say its not fun anymore... i been stuck in the house the better part of a week (got out yesterday for a little while and monday for a little while) but im getting bored... my back hurts, my legs hurt, im tired of shoveling over and over..

... but i am loving the days off!!!!!! :BLAA:

Well, it certainly gives you time to post on the forum!!
That is amazing how much snow you had on your deck that first day. Wow.
Thanks so much for sharing your pics.
I hope you and your wife survive being cooped up for so long together! :BLAA:

Wow! That looks like the previous TWO years here in NH! Tip from a northerner? Tip that table on its side and bungie it to the deck rail. ;)

Sorry it is you but in the same note, glad it's not me!!

Looks like fun.

We're going riding on Saturday... We expect a nice 75F with no clouds. :Flip::BLAA:

i guess your going AFTER WORK? right? lol!

hey atleast with all this snow i dont feel bad about taking the bike out of commission for a few weeks to mod... hehe

You're just plain mean! Hahaha!

I'm trying to clean up my lens on the GoPro case after I've gotten it all dinged up....

Sorry bout the snow guys but it reminds me of growing up in the northeast. I shovel a lot of that stuff! We'll try to bring some fresh video this weekend!

I feel your pain. I'm in Woodbridge, VA and this is ridiculous. I'm so sick of snow. I just want it to get warm so I can ride again.

Looks like it's a good time to go make some babies.

You shouldn't complain about the weather too much, it's your decision to live where you're at. For some of us, we never see anything like this so keep coming with the pics.

I say we ban Wavex for just being outright mean to others:spank:

I'm just jealous sitting here in Chicago wishing I could ride!

your right, it is my decision... but last year i think we got snow once.. like 6 inches.. the year before it was like a few 2 inch storms, we have gotten more snow TODAY, than we have in teh last 5 years COMBINED lol... This was not my choice haha :spank:

I just got done with a 20 hour shift of plowing that sh%t. Gotta be in for more at 8am tomorrow. So glad Ive been awake for 38 hours and only have 14 to recover before more of that same.

So, you hate the snow...at least you dont have to plow it for 20-30 hrs at a time. bright side?

haha, i put about 13.5 hours in sat night. 4pm to 530 am. would have gone longer but it was too deep to plow, we had a F250 super diesel with 6" lift, big offroad tires and we still go stuck 4 times... it was above the tires! lol my neighbor has a few contracts he does, clorox factory, some car dealerships, and dunbar security. he was out from midnight friday night till 530am sunday morning, only stopping to pick me up at 4pm lol then he went bcak out for another 5 or 6 hours sunday.. hes nuts.. but its alot of $$$

that is a lot of snow, be sure that someone is clearing off the roofs of the houses too, there is always something caving in from the weight of the snow around here in the winters and would hate to see it to any of you. on the bright side i saw some flakes today... got a whole 2 inches at my house...

I'm sure you're tired -- been there done that. Get some rest, eat, rest some more, keep hydrated -- because in the end, you still have to shovel (or use a snowblower, etc.).

Here in Southern NH, I think we got 1" on half my driveway and sidewalk (I think a product of the wind). I just shoveled the side walk and thought what the heck, I'll snowblow the 1" off the driveway. It was easy.

I have a cold so I was coughing the whole time -- but at least I got some fresh air.

We're feelin' for ya -- for us, snow is just the usual snow. For you in your area, I'm sure it totally sucks. I hope it melts soon.

Dennis

ya I have to agree, that's not far off from what we get north of Boston regularly. Just remember to lift with your knees.

Well, don't come to California because the weight of the budget deficit/debt is probably as heavy as your snowpack. Unemployment here is at least 12% (much higher but many have given up, etc.) and it's still not really clear which way it's going. Unless there's some miraculous turnaround it's going to get still worse because CA politicians have been rosy forecasting/borrowing foolishly. Forget about starting a public teaching career here right now. At least you have a teaching job there.
