Met up with a bunch of guys to ride out to Willow City Loop and Enchanted Rock, both in the Hill Country of central Texas. Though there aren't any pics of WCL there were a couple of Enchanted Rock. Maybe next time we'll actually stop so's we can get pictures.
Willow City Loop is off of FM 1323, one of the more fun FM's (Farm to Market road) in Texas. FM 962 was a really good ride too, it's also known as Hamilton Pool Road. Too bad there isn't video of the ride. Eventually I'll get a Contour camera to get some of that.
Here's the meet up at the gas station on Hamilton Pool Road and RR 12 (Ranch Road). Yes, that's one of the brand new Yamaha R1's:
This is a 2007 Aprilia Tuono Factory. Jim is a good rider and this is a gorgeous bike.
That "dome" in the background is a gigantic outcropping of granite. It's the Enchanted Rock.
That black bike to the right of the Aprilia is a Yamaha FZ8. Only one today but there's another guy that has one who rides with us on occasion. There was an FZ1 today but no FZ6's.
It was a beautiful central Texas day, creeping up to 90 degrees but with the later cloud cover it made for a very pleasant ride, not hot. We come together through meetup.com and the Austin Sportbike Riders group on there. Loads of fun!
