Greetings fellow Aussie Fizzers,

Looking for advice where to source new front springs in Oz?

I've found a RaceTech dealer near Sydney, is there any other suggestions?

Any info appreciated.

Cheers,
Mac.

There was a shocks rebuilder article in an early issue of Australian Road Rider. I'll have a squiz and see if I can find it for you and send you a name. I think they were either on the Mornington Peninsular here in Vic or just out of Sydney which could suit you

Gday Mac,
I got the front end upgraded with race tech springs by Shock Treatment out west Sydney 2 years ago.
Nice guys, good service.

I also recently rebuilt my forks last week. If you've got the time, its worth it!

Would you mind telling what they did and how much it cost?

I'm looking at getting new linear springs, new oil & seals, and possibly emulators.

Cheers,
Mac.

Hi Mac,
Can't remember cost, but you can call them on it.

I got .95 racetech springs, and the seals replaced. They gave the whole lot a clean up, and also set up the rear with the new front.

I do know that the emulators will cost a bit more. And most here would suggest getting the R6 front end, which would be an improvement on the FZ6 with the new springs and emulators installed. It's something I've thought about, but I'm fairly happy with the springs and 15wt oil. Pop on ebc pads, I rebuilt the brakes (painted faster gold) and I'm satisfied!

Tell us how you go!

Just picked up my bike, so too early to give accurate feedback on the changes.
Going for a ride this Sunday, will let you know...

I got racetech springs (0.9), new oil and seals.
Also had the front bearings replaced, new spark plugs (removed the originals  which looked ok :Flip:) and new chain and sprockets (also originals).

For a 10 yr old bike with 72,000 klms (44700 miles) it is in great shape.
I can't believe how much is(was) original still.

Just proves a little maintenance goes a long way.

Cheers,
Mac.
