What's your favorite (transmission) gear?

Third for me, it's enough to get me going through the curves at the speed I want without being twitchy.

This is pretty much exactly what I would have said. I think 2nd is too twitchy on/off throttle in the curves, 3rd may not give you the same exit power but it sure is smoother, allowing more speed to be carried through the curve.

I like fourth at 4000 rpms at 40 mph I just think it sounds cool

I try NOT to redline too often..........

In the end EVERY gear on my FZ is fun

On the FZ6 I used to love 4th :thumbup: but on the XJR it is easily 3rd , 3rd gear pulls hard all the way from 20kph to over 200 :rockon: :rockon: :rockon:

Usually if I'm riding for fun and I'm on a fun road I'm doing 30-70 mph and trying to leave every apex behind as quickly as possible. I like 2nd for that. But the fuel cut is wicked, especially at altitude. Around town I don't have favorites. It's a toolbox.
