I'm obviously new here, and I hope this isn't a redundant topic...

I would like to know from all you modders out there what your favorite 5 mods are. I'm really looking for handling related mods, like windshields that deflect wind better making for a smoother ride, but if your favorite mod just plain looks good, go ahead and put it in the list!

[/noobtopic]

I would say
1) fender eliminator
2) racetech front springs and change of fork oil (not tested personally yet)
3) change bars (convetibars or clipons)
4) lower cowl
5) frame sliders

My favourites to date, but of course I am biased to those mods I have done.

1. Frame Sliders - for obvious reasons
2. FE kit - cleans up the arse end
3. Puig Racing windscreen in dark smoke - looks awesome, excellent wind protection
4. Aftermarket Exhaust - sounds way better, looks cleaner, really opens up the bike
5. Lower cowl - I have not done this, but it looks AWESOME!!!

That is my 2 cents.

In order...

1. 2 Brothers Exhaust w/ FE (so loud, cleans up the back and looks minty! I love it!)
2. Puig Windscreen (mostly for looks, taller than stock, but not too much more protection, but again I'm 6'2)
3. Frame Sliders
4. TCP Seat Cowl (completely changes look of the bike)
5. PC-III / K&N Air Filter (Although haven't tuned it yet)

I'm also thinking the -1/+2 mod would be a pretty sweet performance mod, although I havent done this one yet so I cant rank it.

Ooo! good thread, pretty much any thread on mods is good in my book.

The first two lists are items that can be easily purchased and not too much work involved. The third is fun and expensive stuff that could require outside help to make happen.

List one; Functional

1) Motovation Sliders
2) Race Tech Fork Springs and 15 or 20 wt fork oil
3) Allballs taper roller bearing head set
4) Steel brake lines
5) Dual Headlight Convert
6) Black out radiator guards and passanger foot pegs

List two; The Bling

1) Exhaust
2) FE Kit
3) Pazzo Levers - Could go in functional too
4) Belly Pan/Cowl
5) Power Commander III

List three; Custom Stuff

1) Saddle/Seat - Corbin or otherwise
2) Dyno tune
3) R6 fork conversion
4) Clip-ons
5) Acculign top clamp - Gotta put a plug in you know
6) OSO2Ks - Rear set, set backs
7) J&E 637cc piston kit
8) Port and polish heads
9) Ceramic coat headers
10) 07+ FZ6 Swingarm or...R6 linkage swingarm conversion (very, very cool)
11) Ohlins Shock
12) Wavex's bike!

Happy modding!

So far

1. Laser Quads
2. R6 forks with SS lines, HH brake pads
3. 15T front sprocket
4. FZ1 bar
5. Pazzos

Probably the last two may get replaced by the French Belly pan.

Just these 2 & wheel stripes: Motech Risers & Vista Cruise!
Maybe a smoke windscreen in the near future.

1. Puig Racing screen
2. Frame Sliders
3. FAZR6 F.E. Kit
4. Dual headlight mod
5. Any seat other than stock!

My favorite though is the Yamaha lower cowl and I didn't list it because it does zero for performance and 150% for bling!

This is my first post so be gentle!

I collect my white FZ6 tomorrow and am planning the following this weekend:

S/S brake lines
Clear indicators (smaller arrow shape)
Crash bungs
TCP flyscreen

Medium term I would like to do the following:
Powder coat wheels red centres fading out to white rims
Add radiator panels and belly pan
Plus any performance mods once I've ridden it for a while

1. Bikerdude's Headlight Mod!!!!!
2. FE Kit
3. Stock Exhaust Bore/Drill Mod
4. TREX Sliders
5. (TIE) between custom license bracket, levers or grips

1. Bikerdude Headlight mod. (best safety mod)
2. Syntek heated grips (best $26 I ever spent on a bike mod)
3. 12 volt Powerlet outlet for the GPS and Radar detector
4. Givi rack and saddlebags
5. cruise control - being fitted today!

All set for the trip to Laguna for the Moto GP.

No one listed a gearing change yet??? -1 up front FTW!!!! (15T)

I like the stock/higher gear for the highway, in fact I think it would be great to get a higher 6th gear, like 5 to 7 percent higher.

For the track, I'd be all over the lower gearing!

Hellgate: thanks for this idea. Yeah, I think I might be interested in going in the other direction with gearing: lower RPM's (one can always downshift) and better gas mileage. On flat straigtaways, for example, why run high RPM's? But, I'll probably just stick with stock.

If I may ask, what do you guys tack in 6th going 80 with stock sprockets?
Thanks (hope thisd isent considered a Hijack)
