Are you talking about carbide tipped lathe bits? There are a few at this link: https://www.grainger.com/category/ecatalog/N-1z0dnr5 Pretty hard to sharpen carbide without destroying a sharpening wheel unless it is a diamond wheel. We used to use a composite rubber and diamond wheel to dress our carbide. :)

Yep, that's it...I have a bunch, but no I do not try to sharpen the carbide tips, only the plain HSS ones. Even then, it's just because I have a box of them, and I can't see to buy more when I have them. Besides, they work well for smaller lathes like this...Some day, larger motor, improved spindle bearings, but that's a distant thought right now :)
