I inherited a slightly damaged TBR exhaust with my FZ6. The cans were dented from a different bike's owner going down, so I took it all apart to try and refurbish it. I drilled out all the rivets so I could get the cans right off, then used a tap hammer and anvil to get out the dents, brushed them with steel wool and finally did a finishing polish. When I reassembled them, I decided to repack the mufflers at the same time, so I got some generic 4-stroke packing and re-rolled the pipes. It's all back together now with new steel rivets and looks sharp.

I'm wondering if the new packing material will change to sound of the pipes, or if there's any hazard in not using TBR packing. Thoughts?
