So, who hunts?

How do you cook them? interested, used to be a chef and can honestly say I have cooked most things, not Squirrel though.

Neil

Typically it's grey squirrels that I eat. I'll be honest I only did it once, but I just made a stew. But I have also heard of people doing teriyaki squirrel on the grill. You can also bread and fry the hind quarters like frogs legs.

I can't speak for him, but I like 'em fried.....or fried then smothered in onions and gravy and cooked down until the meat is falling off the bone and served over rice or big old cat head biscuits

What's it taste like? Is it strong like game birds or subtle like rabbit?
I would definitely be up to trying it.
One of the nicest things I ate in Mississippi was barbeque cat fish.

Tastes like chicken!

Really, it's very mild and doesn't have much flavor at all that I remember.

Mainly they are an overpopulated nuisance but they're also good eating (hillbilly style lol)

Cooking them you have some options, lots of people put it in a stew, some people just grill them and pick meat off the bone and some of us get a few of them together and make a little squirrel steak feast (more like jerky- not a lot of meat on the rascals)
