I have been looking at the Kriega R25 and A*'s Tech Aero

I really think the Kriega R25 strap system looks awesome.

The A*'s Tech Aero looks like it has a slightly better designed organization system and laptop compartment.

I like REI backpacks. They have a awesome return policy and they make a solid product....and they have lifetime warranties on REI brand stuff. So if a zipper fails you can get it fixed. Ive had a laptop backpack(avg size fits laptop, shoes, change of clothes with a few small pockets for odd and ends) for about 4 years now and nothing is wrong with it other than some dirt....but hey thats what happens with a backpack you carry daily.
