First time back on the saddle from my laid down three weeks ago.. it felt great to be riding again. Just when I think could enjoy riding my bike again another problem occurs. Now the bike won't starts when the starter button is press and it is reading error code of 1 on the screen. The bike starts up when it is push start. What is error code 1? What is/are my solution(s)? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I wonder if the ECU took a "shock" when you laid it down? Sometimes stuff can come loose when it takes a hard hit?

Also, is it possible that this something the dealer can clear...kind of like in your car?

Good luck.......let us know if you get this solved.

hhhmmmm....

Fault Code: 15
Diagnostic Code: 01
Symptom: Throttle position sensor-open or short circuit detected.
Probable cause of malfunction:

Open or short circuit in wiring sub lead.
Open or short circuit in wiring harness.

Defective throttle position sensor.
Malfunction in ECU.
Improperly installed throttle position sensor.

Fault Code: 16
Diagnostic Code: 01
Symptom: A stuck throttle position sensor is detected.
Probable cause of malfunction:

Stuck throttle position sensor.
Malfunction in ECU. 01

The other common theme is the throttle position sensor.......

Do you have any wires that are damaged from the slide?....maybe an abrasion on a wire?

Looks like you need to do a good inspection of the wires and the look to see if the Throttle Position Sensor has been damaged.....

Thanks hazy and n1one for your post:thumbup:. Bike starts now with the push of the starter. Luck remains the same....... ROTTEN. Broke off my right mirror from a tip over, it struck a cinder block in the yard. Lost my balance in my attempt to put it on the center stand.:(

No.. just happen:don'tknow:. Maybe the ECU reset itself after some push starts (10 times) :shakehead: or a loose wire got jar back into place.
