Is it absolutely necessary to change the oil drain washer after every oil change or can you use thread lock or copper grease to seal the nut and washer??
Are they easily available? ie standard size between or are they a special order item?
thanks

No - they are not absolutely 100% necessary to be changed every time. Proof is that I have changed my oil twice (unsure how many times the PO has) on the same washer with no leaks. No sealer used.

*However - they should be changed every time. It just makes for a better seal without having to stress the threads.

Thanks for asking the question - hopefully someone can post the part/size so I can order a dozen.

YAY, another oil thread....:spank:

I have put 21k miles on my fizzer changing the oil every 4k and still have the washer that came with the bike in 06'. No puddle on my garage floor, and until there is I'll leave it alone.
