How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

I finally swapped out my fronts at 32,500 miles. They were due, but not super bad. Rears are still great.

I have 17.5k miles on mine and they look to be about half way there in the front and backs are maybe at 75% left...

After 59,000 miles, I'm still on my original brake pads for the Front.

But will change them out when I get new tires in a couple of months. I changed out my rear, which were down to 10-15% at 46,000 miles.

On 47,580km (I went out to the garage to look) I am on my first replacement front set and original rears. 95% of my riding is two up and I rarely touch the rear brake.

I expect my rear pads to last as long as I have the bike. The front are still going strong at nearly 14.000 miles. Just remeber if you change pad materials to clean the surface of your rotors, I have been told that changing materials can cause brake problems without resurfacing the rotors.

I've just changed both of mine at 17K miles, there was some life left on the rear but not much.
I ride a mixture of commute and weekend blasts of at least a tank, sometimes two worth of riding a day.

Just changed my fronts at 18,308 miles, inside pads were wore a bit more than outside ones but still had some life left. I put on EBC HH and resurfaced the disks by riding Gendora Ridge Road, great way to seat new pads:BLAA:

I just pulled the front pads off and changed them at 11,700 miles. There was at least 3/4 left. Feels like one of the dumbest things I have done in awhile.

I am about to leave on a 2000+ mile trip up to canada. I Began to worry the front brakes were marginal thickness. Boy was I wrong.

I guess lesson learned is to pull the calipers and check them first before going and buying new ones. Once I had it apart and had new ones available, I figured what the heck.. why not put the new ones on.

Changed them yesterday, all 3 of them...plus fluids (2.5 years)
Those in the front where almost completely gone, the rear still had a few cm left....Braking was awful and I even managed to make a last trip of 280km before going to the garage....

Anyway, counter was at 37.644km, when I changed them....40ks was out of the question....of course I asked for the same yamaha pads again :thumbup:

was going to change my rear, but it was barely worn so i left it, looks like it was the original too. Currently at 26k miles. (nb i do use my rear brake when riding as well)

I put 12,000 + because I currently am at 11,000 miles and both front and rear still look new. I know it is a car but I just changed the brakes on my 08 scion xb this past spring at 97,000 miles.

Every bike will be different because of your riding style. brake pads don't go bad they just wear out.

Same here on the bike. Just over 11k, I can still see the wear grooves, with them still in the calipers. I'd guess 20k or more on the fronts, and who knows for the rear- I rarely use it.

That's really impressive on the car, if you're meaning the front ones, and they haven't been replaced before. I usually see 1/3 of that on most cars.
