Hard vs Soft Armour?

I seriously believe that some hard armour is the go for the forearms and elbows and perhaps even the shoulders but with padding under it. If you slam the corner of a 4WD with your forearm this will stop it snapping or at least it did with Wolfman. Some serious very localized swelling on his forearm from impact with the corner of a 4WD and didn't break it.

The soft padding needs to be there too, to protect you from impact with the road and insides of your hard armour.
