So, I think it is time to offer a group buy on my retrofitting services. I have had tons of interest over the last few months, and I think that a little discount would help everyone even more to be able to do this. This group buy is for retrofitting services, not just the kit. I still offer the kit discounted from TRS, if you would like to do the work yourself.

The details are as follows:

6 people must confirm, and make payment by 3/29/13. Payment plans are accepted, however standard payment plan terms still apply. For payment plans, a contract must be signed, with plan details. Down payment of the payment plan holds your spot.

This is first come first served. I am only one person. It is going to take time to get through all the retrofits, and as this is a multi-site group buy, I could have a handful to do. The first one to sign up and pay is the first retrofit I do. Extra headlight's may be available, ask for details.

The discount after 6 people have been reached: $75 off, almost 20% off. (Standard 2 bulb headlight)

Another reason for the group buy, is that I am trying to raise money for the forums. Dennis has done so much that we should give back, more than we already have. I am going to give him DOUBLE the amount that I normally do for each retrofit, once we reach the required amount of buyers.

If there are any questions, feel free to ask.

CONFIRMED SO FAR:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Which HID kit is this covering and approximate total cost?

For the FZ6, it is the Morimoto Mini H1 projector kits from The Retrofit source. Any color bulb.

Approximate cost for a retrofit with 1 paint color is $443 pending options.

This group buy would set that cost at $368.

I dont think anyone needs to vouch for this guys work, but just in case you are needing one then here it is. I worked with him for more than 5 months on a payment plan and he delivered as promised with no issues and great communication. I did not do the install myself, but the shop I use here in Indianapolis was so impressed that they said the following:

"I would not hesitate to recommend this guys work. The headlights look great." - Fatty's Cycle

Chad - I haven't had a chance to go by and see the final product yet, but I am sure they are perfect.

I would so be in on this if it wasn't for the fact I enjoy doing my own mods. Looks like you do good work.

I'm doing this on my bike as practice for doing it on my ram.

I'm interested, but was wondering, could you do a dual H4 solution? (magnetic plunger bulbs) or is this retrofit not compatible?

Cheers,
Rick

I'm In the same boat I like to have dual hi beams if possible
Do you have a payment plan for this or would it be all up front
Can we get pics of the exact kit going In, I'm very mechanically inclined but scared to put plastic in the oven

I can get the kit for you if you are interested in doing the work. This group buy is for me to do the work though sorry!

Nice timing, the day AFTER I buy the kit from you. ;) Lol.

Just like I said above, this is for me to do the work. The kit isn't discounted.

The kit that I use has a relay harness that utilizes the H4 connection of the FZ6 for the high beam, and everything else is ran from the harness. There fore, when hooked up with the harness, you get dual lows and dual highs. Shipping to you could get expensive...

See above, in both instances. If you do the work, I can't discount the kit. My margins are very thin. I do have a payment plan. 30% down, and minimum of $50 payments weekly or bi-weekly.

Testimonial from Cambo on the FZ8 forums:

To the folks who've already signed up:

You're making a great decision. Pics don't do Chad's work justice...looks a million times more bad *** in person. I'm lucky enough to live within driving distance so I had the opportunity to meet Chad and I can say he's a good, genuine, and trustworthy dude. He treats every bike like it's his own and is a hell of a perfectionist lol. Damn near had to steal my bike from him beacause he didn't like how the beam pattern angle was off by .0001354 of a millimeter or whatever. Anyway, I gave my bike back to him to let him work his magic on a cooler looking custom retrofit and I'm excited as hell to see the results.

To the folks who are on the fence about it:

Stop it. Go for the retrofit. It's money well spent for an invaluable, beast mode mod. At Chad's prices, it's a steal. You get an awesome end product, no headache (from attempting it yourself), and time you can devote to something else (other mods, family, etc). One ride with the new HIDs and you'll be glad you did it. I was grinning from ear to ear when I first switched them on at night.

I'm not getting ANYTHING out of posting this up; no discounts, no nothing. I really am just trying to recommend a very good thing for the FZ8 community done by a very good dude from our FZ8 community.

If I wasn't in the middle of refinancing, I'd use what I have saved up for closing costs to do this. Hopefully you do this deal in the future!

Just wondering if you mount the Morimoto Mini H1 using the H4 adapters and threaded stem nut and silicone washers they provide or do you actually bolt them to the reflectors using bolts and the 4 bolt holes provided on the Morimoto projector? I think people would want to know how they are secured from vibrating loose.

This is an excellent upgrade folks! I have had FX-R projectors in my FZ6 for about 4 years now and I can't image riding at night with stock lights!

I use the H4 and H7 adapters with the locking nut and silicone washers. The nice thing is that since they are aluminum, and once they are tight, the threads seize, and it locks the projector in place. No amount of vibration will loosen the lock nut. Excellent point to bring up!
