until next week :D

I start my new job as Senior Electrical Designer on monday.

I have been lucky enough to be offered a job which is a few steps up from my current one.
I have several certificates in electrical, mechanical and drafting and can finally get the recognition (and pay) for them. The company I just left didn't have many options for advancement and I was working as a designer for the pay of a draftsman. I did enjoy my work but knew it would be several years before I could move up.

The new job will also expand the range of industry to work in.
I've spent the last five years in the water/waste water industry.

I'm excited ( and a bit nervous ) about it all and just thought I'd share the good news.

Awesome! Few of my buddies have moved to new companies just recently in hopes of advancing their careers. I'm hoping this is a sign of economy finally bouncing back.

I'll be heading out soon, just getting things packed to go.

Wifey saw I had free time and quickly filled it up.

Negotiations were entered and I managed to get two days for riding then it's back to reality :D

Good on you mate! Put your head down, work hard and you will be fine. Just don't let her spend all of your money unless it's for the bike.

I'm slowly working towards a new exhaust  ( and maybe some new mirrors )

As for spending the money, the kids do their fair share of burning through the wallet :spank:
Hopefully we'll all have a bit more to play with.

Thanks to all for the well wishes.

No pics today, bloody rain, still got a couple hours in the saddle.

If tomorrow is clear I'm going out to ride the Putty Rd.
( i'd put a link to a map but don't know how :( )

It's the best road for twisties around the Newcastle area, if I head out I'll take the camera with me.

That's it! ( thanks  )

I head from Newy out to Wollombi ( to the right of the marker ) then north to Broke. Cut left to the Putty and head south.

One of the best roads I've ever ridden.

Looks like a great road! Was gonna say if that isn't it somebody should make the trip out there anyways because it looks (by the map anyways) like a killer stretch of road. Hope the weather holds out for ya, hate it when nature interferes.

As long as the wind isn't too bad I'll probably head out even if it is raining.
It takes an hour too get out there which means I don't get the time normally to make the trip.

Having a couple of days off, I HAVE to make the effort!

With kids activities on Saturdays and spending quality time with the Family on Sundays I only get the occasional 1-2 hour window for riding and it's just not long enough to get out there. ( not that I'm complaining  )

I will try and get a few pics of the best bits.

Make sure you stop for a Dr Jurds

I love the Putty Rd , used to travel it every Sunday night on my way home from the missus house in Muswellbrook to Sydney.... It was always quiet & over very quickly in a VK Brock :BLAA:

Didn't get out to Putty, wind and rain too much.

I did go for a ride along the coast near here, attached a couple of pics of Newcastle coast.
( I've resized them, sorry if the quality has suffered )

Most of the bad weather headed inland, so I made the most of it.

Thanks for the pics looks like a nice stretch

I know what you mean about family life it pretty much fills up my week (not in a bad way though), but it makes riding and getting away from it all so much better when I get the chance .

Nobby's beach just doesnt look the same without the Pasha Bulker parked on it :D... Seems like only yesterday LOL

That could be because the pics are of Newcastle beach, not Nobby's :scared:
(attached image of Newcastle showing both beaches)

But the whole Pasha Bulker incident was amazing, and does seem like only yesterday! ( can you believe it was June 8, 2007 )
I took the family in to watch them try to recover it...twice!

Well my week off is over! :(

I did manage to put over 1200K's ( 750 miles ) on the fz, even with the bad weather we're having at the moment.

Went for a couple of rides with a mate who has a Busa (my god that thing is quick  )
Thankfully the only attention we got from LEO's was in a carpark (see pic ).

Had a great week and found some new roads to enjoy.
