Degrease your chain

I've put 1000+ miles on my FZ6 since I got her and haven't cleaned or lubes the chain yet.

I can tell that the dealer that I got the bike from did do this including changing all her fluids.

My question is should the chain be cleaned everytime it's lubed and if not at what intervals would you recommend.

Chain cleaning: every __________miles
Chain lubing: every ___________miles

I can second that! Clean chain in like 10 minutes not rushing and without a big mess.

I got mine and used it for the first time today - very impressed!

I used more of the cleaner and lube than they recommended (i.e. all of it) but I guess that comes with practice.

i've heard every time you ride through rain or 500 miles... which ever comes first. there have been times that i've been in a hurry and i haven't cleaned but i have lubed the chain. doesn't take that much time to do.
