This brood of 17-year cicadas should be arriving in April - June in the mid-Atlantic states.

I caught a hatch in Cincinnati in, of all places, Riverfront Stadium. We were there for a "businessman's lunch" baseball game, and cicadas were drifting down into the stadium, you had to keep your beer covered.
It was my only cicada hatch so far, and also my only professional baseball game; surreal afternoon...
 
I remember when I was a little kid the sound of them would lull me to sleep in the summer afternoon.

I feel like I saw these about ten years ago out in the south-west. I guess this means that different broods appear staggered, so the 17 years just depends on which batch of cicadas you're talking about?
