Chain lube stained my wheel

I lubed my chain using Blue Label chain lube and the stuff got all over the back wheel. Now i have spots from it that dont come off with soap and water. Does anybody know a remedy for this that wont ruin the finish? Im assuming its happened to other people. Thanks a lot

WD40 works wonders on rims!!

Yamaha makes a mud, grease and engine cleaner you can use; part number ACC-MUDGR-CL-NR; will not harm plastic, rubber or metal parts. I bought a can at the local bike shop for $4.99. WD-40 & Goo Off work well and can be found locally.

+1 on Simple Green. If that doesn't work, WD40 should!

I used WD40 and a rag on the underside of the rear hugger and it got off all the road grime easily. WD40 shouldn't harm painted surfaces as long as you wash it off.

I also use WD40 on my rims and alot of other parts of my bike. Does an excellent job of cleaning and it doesn't hurt the finish.

He said back wheel (rim), not tire.
