So I am busy looking for chains and sprockets for my bike. My question would apply to mods and upgrades as it involves changing sizes of parts.
So I read going down in size of front sprocket speeds you up and up in the back makes it more faster. This is not he part I was wondering about...
JT brand 15T front sprocket
Part #JTF580-15
I used for local riding over the course of 2 partial seasons. I had been experimenting with 17T and 16T for long trips.
$14 shipped to lower 48
Goals are simple. A bit of extra umph in the lower RPMS, not a wheelie machine (not yet at least :D. I do not ride on the highway and rarely go over 80 mph. Thankfully this bike gets out of first around 55mph, but even then I find myself climbing up those RPMs to get that power on the street...
As title, it seems that on a really smooth surface like a new car park or fresh tarmac I can feel a slight clicking as the chain is going round only at very low rolling speeds (with gear engaged, if I depress clutch then it goes..I think) Hard to explain its not really a knock although close to...
I just bought an 04 FZ6S. 21k miles. I had $1200 worth of work done but I think there's still a problem. There is serious play in the front sprocket. When on the center stand, in first gear, when I move the rear tire back and fourth, there's a ton of play.
In fact, I can feel the play when I...
Does anyone have any experience in going up 1 tooth on the front sprocket? Does it help with the economy and engine RPM for highway speed? If so, how bad does it hinder performance? Thanks for your time and expertise!
I've got a pair of OEM levers and an OEM front sprocket (16t) that I don't need.
I know the usual recommendation is to change sprockets and chains as a new set, but this one doesn't look bad. From my logs, I replaced it for a 15t after 7,000 miles. If someone wants it to save a few bucks, I'm...
Anyone know the oem spec size for the front and rear sprocket, and for the length of the chain on the 2005?
Its not in the manual and my googling has given me mixed results.
I know this info should be online somewhere but I cant find it. If it is just a link would be cool. Problem is there are...
2007 FZ6 25,000 miles
So I noticed tonight coming home from work that everytime I take off from a light I get a nasty grinding clunking noise, none of this has to do with the normal chain noises and its not shifting noise. It is real bad in 1st and only in low RPM in 2nd as far as I can tell...
I am looking at buying a used 2004 FZ6. I took the bike for a short test drive and when accelerating, heard some rattling or clunking noises. I could not tell where they were coming from. It is hard to describe but the noise would speed up when accelerating and slow down when braking. It...
So I finally picked up my bike and started getting her back up to par. The previous owner didn't do that great a job taking care of her. :( I was cleaning off the chain and noticed a large build-up of that black tar/grime/gunk stuff on the underside of the bike, on the wheels, etc. I take off...
Excuse the massive title.
I was just on a 1000 mi+ trip with my FZ6 S2 and figured out in the first 200
miles that my chain was shot (I know). A few links seized up after 2 hours in
the rain and I tried to loosen it up with some WD40 and motor oil after but not
much I could do, the...
Install of a black powder coat 48 tooth Sunstar sprocket is pretty much the last Silver part on the bike short of the headers, mid-pipe and fork stanchion tubes... All the rest is Black Powder Coat. Not for everyone, but I like it!
I may need a new project now! :D
Yes, a 48 will fit w/2"...
I am missing my gear sprocket retaining nut!
Don't know how, don't know when, but it has disappeared, probably fallen out while riding (just checked the garage floor a thousand times).
I consider myself very lucky, that when it fell out, it did not cause any damage to the bike, nor did it kill...
Well I finally found out what has been causing my weird crunching sound, my sprocket side rear wheel bearing. The thing was toast, I'm guessing from the previous owners fall. Since the sprocket separated from the hub, it was pretty easy to remove the bearing and replace it. I realized I...
Ok first off I know this topic has been beaten to death but after reading all the threads I am still not sure what I am doing. I was lucky enough that somebody bought me a chain for my fz6 as a gift. I just need to know if this vortex sprocket is compatible or not. I am not looking to gain any...
