Okay so, idk if its just my driving or what, but when im in 3rd gear, and i go to switch to 4th, when i pull the clutch in and shift up real fast all while holding the throttle, when i shift to 4th, the rpms stay the same as if i was still in 3rd, then gradually go back down as if i upshifted as...
When do you people shift up say during a gentle drive in city traffic.
I switch gears up at no less than 3000 rpm when there's no particular need for quick acceleration. Afterwards cruise at just above 3000 rpm, usually > 3100 rpm.
I don't know if I imagining this, but I feel like my bike (2006, 35k mi) is working too hard, especially in lower gears, and off the start. It still pulls good, but sounds as it has to work harder/busier to get there. Has anyone experienced it?

I've always liked the workmanship on Victories, only thing bad I've heard about them is their gearboxes aren't very smooth. Surprisingly, this thing has a six-speed gearbox! Electric cars that I know of...
I've noticed when cruising at a constant speed with the throttle staying in one position in the lower gears, mainly 1-3, the RPMs like to fluctuate a bit. Not enough to cause any noticeable jolt/chugging feeling, but I can definitely hear it. Is this normal on our bikes? Seems like other inlines...

The manual says it has 6 but the dealer says it's OK as it is with 5 gears (1 down and 4 up).
WHo should I believe?
Please don't judge me - I am a new biker and don't really know the technical...
Ok, so I'm not the most technically minded person in the world, and i've got a problem with my bike. It doesn't do it all the time, but it's not very nice when it does.
it's an 09 fz6 with about 2,200 miles on the clock. Sometimes when i change from either N into 1st, or from 2nd into first...
