Thanks all! I took your advice and got it inspected and renewed the plates. Funny enough, a very serious buyer contacted me before I had a chance to update the ad with that info and some of the other suggested changes. He is paying the full asking price and picking it tomorrow.
Side note...
Hello All! I haven't been very active on here in quite awhile. I hope everybody is well.
I am trying to sell my FZ6 and I'm not getting any bites. Here is the ad on Craigslist. Am I asking too much? Describing it poorly?
I delete and repost the ad often so that link probably won't...
Can I change my answer?
Almost 40K miles and mine finally hit the ground... Damn. I was on the annual "Brrrr Ride" in western Virginia this weekend and I was riding across a grassy / leaf covered field on my way to my usual piece of real estate to set up my tent. I was maybe 50 yrds from...
I just performed this service Saturday and between the service manual and the advice here it was a pretty straight forward job.
Some tips and notes:
1. I also used a broom handle to keep the damper rod from spinning. I just used a hex socket with a breaker bar rather than an impact...
My Fizzer Key (of course), house and office key (wrapped in velcro so they don't destroy my triple tree), a braided length of cord, key to the Trax cases, Isle of Man TT keychain given to me by an acquaintance who grew up there.
With the original post deleted I'm not sure what the story or video was, so this response may or not fit the situation..?
Anytime somebody is tailgating me I stick my left arm out and down with my palm facing back. It's a pretty clear "please back off a little" signal. 90% of tailgaters...
Hehe.. I like that, but no... It's a long story involving a few Yankee's in a VW Microbus touring the south in pursuit of the next Dead show.
That crazy balancing act was actually quite stable. I was building a big compost bin and when it was halfway constructed I thought to myself "hey...
Nope, I no longer accept WD40 hate. It works great for a lot of things and I've never regretted using it. It isn't perfect for everything, but it's way more useful than the experts seem to think.
I guess for fun, I'll ask... Why shouldn't I use it in this application? Is it supposed to...
I hear ya! I'm starting to estimate my projects like this:
I take the expected time to completion and multiply by 3. Then I take the expected cost and multiply it by 2.
Works every time.
Great tool. Indispensable when changing brake rotors on a cage. It really shines with Phillips head screws because it only twists when a great amount of force is being exerted into the the screw head. Simply put.. bye bye stripped screw heads.
I've never tried it with sockets/bolts before...
The only thing I would add is that you should somehow lash the center stand to the front portion of the bike to keep it from folding when it's balanced like that.
Oh, and two tips for removing the front wheel.
1.Don't forget to loosen the socket bolt on the bottom front of the one fork...
I usually place a bag or two of mulch (or similar) on the rear of the bike to weigh it down thereby lifting the front. After removing the wheel I like to place some wood or a small cooler under the front of the bike in case somebody decides they need some mulch for their garden..
Others...

So, I saw this post on ADV Rider by a user named Poolside a couple years ago and decided to finally try it this weekend. I run Pilot Road 2's and all tire/wheel combos are different, but I expect it should work with all FZ6 mounts. Wow.. just wow. The tire just pops on with a...
I always order my PRII's from Moto X Outlet. I think they are about $250 shipped. I got them the day after I ordered.
I get between 12-14K miles out of my PRII's, but they are pretty bad by the time I get close to 14. My miles are split evenly between highway and twisties so they wear...
