    TW + Feedback: 2006 FZ6 (Shift Red)

The SV650 is a bike I was most definitely considering, but honestly, I'm more aggressively going after my friend's 06 R6 (Raven). He's going to let it go for $5k with 300 miles, never dropped, always garaged, 1st and only owner. As for the advice part of it, hehe, very true.. I guess I...

    starter Button

Thanks for all the suggestions guys... the WD-40 worked. Given the stiffness of the starter button and how it seemed like the plastic was going to break, it almost felt like a clip or spring might have broken inside. Miraculously, and unbelievably, after a few hours, the start button went...

    starter Button

ahh.. perhaps I'll try the WD40 first. Thanks for the quick reply and the heads up. Hopefully it'll be as easy as that for the starter button. It almost feels like something broke in there.. it looks like it's halfway already pushed in and very stiff. Was that the same for you?

    starter Button

man, just encountered that problem tonight. Starter button feels very stiff with no "click." Thanks for the good advice guys. I'll check up on that next chance I get. I may just take it apart first before using the WD-40. Without having done any research yet... anyone know how much that...

what tank bag fits the fz6 well?

I'm currently using the Frank Thomas Cargo Endurance tank bag. It seems to fit very well and is very comfortable to lean on during the longer rides. Been using it for about 2 weeks with no complaints at all! http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?item=FTL_CAR006 Looks like it's still on...

    Compatible Wheels to FZ6

Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there knew the answer to this question. I've actually done some research online and even called several Yamaha dealers. In my online search, I found an informal chart of wheels compatible between the R6(s) and FZ6... both from varying years. The results...

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

Very true... although I never thought 70mph would be considered too fast for empty night riding. I guess there's a rude awakening for everything. Thank goodness the cost was only my wheels and tires... and not me. Yeesh. Hehe, thanks for the advice man.

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

you rock man.. thanks for the input. When I get off work today, I'll check various boards and links you guys have provided. My neck is feeling a little sore... probably from the stress of the landing impact and the strain from straightening out from the wobbles.

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

The funny thing is.. when I ride normally on the streets, I practice hard / sudden swerving using various objects I see on the ground for reference. I practice these usually at 30-40mph. Given the limited visibility at midnight (even with high-beams on!) and it being 70mph, I'm not sure...

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

Thank you all for the support. It's very reassuring hearing it come from a community of people who understand how it is out there. Yes, it was intense when my bike landed and began the speed wobble. Should I be concerned with salvage yards having potentially (unnoticeably) bent rims?

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

Thank you so much for the help. Both places are definitely driving distance from me, so this is a good sign of hope. Do you know if those prices are considered decent? I was looking around online with part #'s and couldn't find any prices. I was thinking about calling around to various...

Hit a rock (6" tall) on freeway - help

Hello, I don't post often but have been lurking ever since I got my FZ6 in October. I was wondering if there was anyone here who can help me out... Tonight, at about 12:30am, I was riding up the 880N in Alameda when I suddenly saw a giant rock sitting in front of me... coming fast. I was...
