Sorry with the late reply. Had a lot going on, what with holidays and hospital visits for treatment. I was not able to get the correct color fairing but managed to get it resprayed.

    Fuel tank breather system

Thanks for the reply, it seems that this can happen at any tank fuel level. Sometimes it has been full, but equally it has registered only 2 bars on the fuel gauge and still has the same problem. Looking in the tank I can see no rust, looks real clean. I can't seem to get my head around what...

    Fuel tank breather system

Hi, I need help with the fuel tank filler cap breather system. I previously thought I had an oil leak, as there were small puddles on the ground under centre stand. Now looks like this deposit is coming from the fuel tank breather pipe. In warm weather fumes can be seen coming from the pipe...

    new oil leak

I have now checked under the tank, but the first point to note was where the two rubber hoses end by the centre stand and after cleaning all the road muck etc. I have found two white rings. The one on the hose from the left side of tank was nowhere near the clip affair where the white ring on...

    new oil leak

Thanks for the advice. I have looked at the bottom of the tank and can now see those two pipes and yes they are the two that appear by the co2 sensor, although I can't see any color on them. I can't identify which pipe has discharged the Oil. But if they both go to the tank I guess what must...

    new oil leak

Hi, I am really hoping some knowledgeable person out there can help me. On the last two occasions when I have ridden my bike it has dumped a tiny amount of oil. There are two rubber pipes ending close to the co2 sensor on the exhaust, right side of bike. One is the fuel tank overflow or...

Where to check coolant level on a fully faired FZ6 S2

Hi, I don't know if your bike is similar to mine. I have a Yamaha lower fairing which does make it difficult to see the coolant level, also on my bike its not easy to actually see the level in the window. (several times when checking I thought it was well near the upper limit) What I now do is...

New front indicators for lower fairing

Hi, I have fitted a lower fairing and now found it difficult to carry out maintenance on and around the engine area. I used the stock front indicators using the Yamaha fixing kit, but this means you have to remove the indicators to remove the lower fairing. The ideal would be to get after...

    New to me FZ6

Hi to Kenh. Sorry but the dealer did'nt tell me if they found any fault, all they said was that they adjusted the clutch, lubed all the linkage, adjusted the chain tension. One of those must have cleared the problem because I can even get into 1st from cold without a clunk. Regards

    New to me FZ6

Many thanks to TowsendsFJR1300 for the advice. I've now got the bike back from the dealer who carried out all the checks that towsendsfjr1300 advised to get done. Wow the bike has now got such a good gear change, the dealer said it is the slickest gear change of any FZ6 he knows of. Many...

    New to me FZ6

Hi Guys and maybe Ladies, So far the dealer has been unable to replicate the fault but is continuing with testing the bike. The dealer is a reputable one with knowledge of the bike. However when I purchased it last month they had done a service on it, but I noticed that there was no free play...

    New to me FZ6

Hi everyone, I have just returned to biking after many years and have purchased a FZ6 S2 2008 model. In faster Blue. I have only had it for 1 Month but I seem to have a problem with the gears and it has now gone back to the dealer for diagnostics. The problem is that intermittently it will...
