Help finding O2 sensor connector (PC V)

Hi All, I have an 06 (blue) that I bought used about a year ago. Great bike. Thanks to this group, I did a couple of mods over the summer: 1) PC V 2) Scorpion exhaust When I installed these items, I disconnected what I thought was the 02 sensor under the tank. However, during a...

    New bike: FZ1 or FZ-09

Thanks everyone for all the useful input. The dealers around these parts don't seem to allow test drives on new bikes, so a direct comparison is not possible. So I am relying on the collective wisdom of this group! He sold all three 2013 FZ1s, but now he has a 2014 FZ1 (white) that I am...

    New bike: FZ1 or FZ-09

Hi All, I have a 2006 FZ6, and I am planning to keep that. We are building a 2nd place down in the Souther Utah desert, and the FZ6 will stay down there for riding around the parks and canyons. My wife has given me permission for a second bike. :-) The Yammy dealer has a new, 2013 FZ1...

    Scorpion Exhaust Question

On my 2006, I tried to mount my Scorpion ovals in the "tall way" as on the first picture, with the angles exhaust facing down, and I could not get them to fit above the bracket (even with the Scorpion supplied bracket). It just wouldn't fit. Has anyone else had luck or lack of in mounting...

Build your own Manometer for Throttle Body Sync!

I tried the method proposed by Fizzer6, and had no luck. Immediately bubbles and then a "foam" of oil that bounced around like crazy. I think the problem is that the pressure pulses and if it pulses a lot it breaks up the columns of oil into way, way too many bubbles. After I decided to...

    Just ordered the PC V

I don't think so. It's just an EFI module. RTW

    Just ordered the PC V

Here is the update for the archive - The installation was a breeze. About 15 minutes. The most time consuming part is removing those darn panel liners to get the tank up. All wiring, etc. interface to computer, was fine. I used a Mac Air with VMWare. Perfect. - I used the maps from...

    Just ordered the PC V

I have a 2006, which is basically stock (except for fork coils). Just ordered he PC V. Around $275. Seemed reasonable. I made this investment after deciding that I like this bike enough to keep it for a while (I hope). I really like this bike, except... I am hoping the PC-V will...

    Burning through front wheel bearings

Definitely. I press the bearings in using pressure only on the outside race of the bearing. When I ripped through my first bearing, I let it go on too long, and it chewed up one end of the inner sleeve. I replaced it with the OEM part. Should be in perfect condition. Thanks. Ross

    Burning through front wheel bearings

I took out the right side bearings. They we very tight to get out. All the parts are intact. The receptacle for the bearing was pretty beat up. Dents, scratches. So I cleaned it up some and did some fine sanding. The bearing went in more easily, with just a few taps. I use a...

    Racetech springs. which ones?

I weight 190 and I got the 0.95 with 15wt. I really like the ride. They recommended 0.90 on their web site. Thus, I would go just a bit heavier than they suggest. 1.0 would make sense in that case. RTW

    Burning through front wheel bearings

Hi, 2006 with 20k miles. Bought used about 5k miles ago. This bike has been down, but I have it restored to what seems like perfect working order (and appearance). I just put in my 3rd right-side front bearing in 5k miles. I know they go bad when they start popping. When taken out...

First day with FZ6, have some ?'s

Based on this thread I tightened my throttle cable to have virtually zero play. This makes a huge difference on the catchiness of the throttle. Much smoother at low speeds and coming out of turns. Thanks. RTW

    How to replace clutch cable

+1 on removing the air box. After 40 mins of trying to get that clip undone, I decided I had to move the air box. No need to completely remove, just loosen the front bolts and the clamps on the intakes and slide it out of the way. The clip was then easy to undo (and redo). Sliding the...

    I JET'S FZ6 Cup Bike..Freshly Painted & Stickered. (Pic Heavy)

This looks great! I like the rims. How hard is it to paint those? Did you strip them first or did you just clean them up and paint over top of what was there? Thanks. RTW

    My new 2006 FZ6 - first impressions

I chose the black pads because: - I thought they looked better than clear (I don't like the clear as it ages - seen other clear pads on other bikes) - I have a few small chips in the paint in that area, so I thought I would cover those up. I have no reason to there is a performance...
