Poked my head in this forum for the first time in a while to sell some parts. Man I miss it. The Triumph forum isn't nearly as interesting.
That being said, I wanted to add to this post a bit.
In the almost two years since I originally posted, I have been pulled over twice. Once on a...

Sure have. Here's a vid taken a few years back. I like the Chesty a lot for upright, not so aggressive riding. Seems to capture a bit more of the riding experience.

So I just traded in my FZ6 on a new (old stock) 2013 Triumph Daytona. I love a lot of things about it, but I wish I had kept the FZ in the stable for a few reasons-#1 being comfort. I can't see myself doing a 400 to 600 mile day on the Triumph;something I regularly did on the FZ. #2 is storage...
Absolutely. I've put in a little under 200 miles so far, and a little gun shy with the throttle (break-in for another 800) but I can tell you this-the handling is damn near telepathic. I'm sure I'll be beside myself once I can let her rip to redline. I'll be sure to post up.
Just traded my '06 FZ for a new Daytona 675. I was headed to the track more and more often, and I needed a sharper tool. Just wanted to say thanks to all here who's posts I have enjoyed over the last few years and have learned a heck of a lot from. Your guidance has been key. I'll be checking in...
I drag a little knee every chance I get. Totally possible on the FZ with a little practice. If you succeed, when you get on a supersport you will be a rockstar. It's so much easier with clip-ons.
In the pic, you'll notice the bikes not even leaned over that much. It's all about the "one cheek...
Install a solar system with battery back up.
The newer systems, which remain grid-tied (like the ones incorporating the Tesla Powerwall batteries) can be optimized to either do load/peak shedding to use power you have produced when the utility is charging you the most for their kWh's. They can...
Yep. Kill switch. Opened it to find some evidence of arcing and pitting on the contacts.
You may see that I posted on one of the older posts thanking you all for the help. I just came in from a test ride-all clear.
We'll see if a good cleaning fixed it. If not, I'll do the bypass and...
Once again, this forum comes to the rescue. You guys rule. I had the same issue today and was so frustrated. Electrical issues are the worst. I would not have known to look at the kill switch. Thanks!
Must be some synchronicity happening here. I just logged on to see if I could get some help diagnosing an electrical gremlin that sounds close to what you have experienced. Although I am not seeing the dash reboot like you did. Just the loss of power, occasional engine shutoff while riding...
