Gear Ratios by Sprocket Teeth

Thanks for posting, indeed a good find.

I had not been thinking in terms of gear ratios since I sid a 4 speed trans conversion and swap out of the rear end on my firebird back in 2008 (before getting the Fz6).

I went with a 3.23 rear and found it kind of annoying on the highway (pontiacs hate to rev).

With the FZ6 15T / 46 spockets it is at 3.07 which really feels kinda perfect. More responsive in all gears and reasonable revs at higher speeds in 6th gear.

3.23 is a little too revvy for me with a 400ci big block. I don't do a whole lot of highway driving but when I do, I find it annoying. It's annoying a-n-n-o-y-i-n-g.
You may be used to a chevy small block where you can rev the snot out of them, not so with the BB pontiacs

I went from a 2.56 gear ratio to 3.23. A huge leap up.

Besides I would much rather ride my FZ6 any day of the week

I see if it had a 2.56 that is a big jump up ive just never herd any complaints about a 3.23 on highways in anything unless they were complaining about no bottom end but to each his own....you want annoying go from a 3.73 backed by a turbo 400 to a 5.13 :D top speed 99 mph @ 7800rpm with 32x15 m/t streets
