  1. That gear is your life.
  2. It does not matter how slow or fast you go, a highside will really mess up your day.
  3. Any wreck you can walk away from is a good one(if you have to wreck that is)
  4. Gravel is NOT your friend
  5. Don't ride alone if you can help it. There was someone who did, went off the ramp yesterday and died. no one around to help and could have made a difference.

There are a lot of things besides gravel that can be considered not friendly to motorcyclist. You just have to remember that surface conditions plays a critical part, so you really have to be very cautious when you are out and about, especially going around a corner.

"That gear is your life"

Couldn't agree more, spend the big bucks for the good stuff. If you need it in a crash it will be the best money you ever spent.

Just remember, your gear is your last resort, obviously more the better and as Doug mentioned, quality does make a difference. . In order of importance, your mental abilities is the most important, your decision making skills in operating your bike, knowing How, Where and What to look while at the same time, adjusting your position so that you're in the least vulnerable position against all of the X factors that may come into play. Secondly, if your mental skills fail, then you must rely on your physical skills. This is how well you are able to execute your corrective action, whether it's braking or swerving. How good are you? Practice makes perfect and your muscle memory is very important. And of course if your mental and physical skills fails, then it's your gear. The whole objective in riding is to make sure you have the ability to rely on your mental skills so that you never have to rely on your physical skills.
