Metzler M7RR rear with HUGE bubble!!!!

I was just about to go for a ride and was T-Clocking before I mounted and look what I found! Haven't ridden in a week, and the last ride was short and uneventful.

These have less than 3,000 miles on them. The scuff mark is from where it rubbed against the rear hugger when I rotated the tire.

I have a call in to Metzler customer service, but it looks like Dunlop SportMax Q3+ here I come!!!!! Geesh.

When I spoon the new tires on I will take a peek inside to see what happened.

And to everyone out there, ALWAYS inspect the critical parts of the bike before you throw a leg over, cause you NEVER know what you might find!

Wow, I've never seen a tire fail like that. That would have been a major blowout had it happened on the road at speed.

Good choice on the Q3+. They are so good I never even think about them.

I use Ride On tire sealant. I wonder if it works on a problem this big

What a year so far. Between the stator issue costing me a week and this will be a week easy. I picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue!

It might be a small leak internally that is no where near the size of the bubble but you have to let us know what did this.

I'm kind of surprised that the the outer tread section will stretch that much. Interesting.

Following up...

First of all, Revzilla really stepped up. Even though the tires were ordered over a year ago, they are refunding the full purchase price of the rear tire. Thank you Revzilla, you earned points!

The Dunlops will be here tomorrow. I have a busy weekend so likely will not have time to install them till next week, which is good because I expect the Ohlins rear shock this weekend (finally!). So lots of good things to install.

Pirelli (parent of Metzler) told me to work with Revzilla to start the analysis of the failure, but Revzilla made no mention of returning the tire. I reached out to them to see what next steps are. Maybe its me, but if I made that tire I would be REALLY interested in why it would fail so unusually and so early.

I'd think they (Pirelli) would want it for analysis.. Why they don't is somewhat disturbing.

BTW, I had a DID, O-ring chain start spitting out the o-rings early in its life. DID replaced the chain W/O issue and did want the failed chain for analysis.

Pirelli didn't sound disinterested, they just said that the process gets started by the dealer. And since my last post, Revzilla sent me a prepaid return label for the tire. I will remove it next week and do my own analysis before sending it off. Will post up more pictures when I get there.....

I got worried when they were acquired by Cycle Gear. The 'Old' Revzilla was really rider-focused and independent. It pains me to see them selling Bilt, Sedici, Street & Steel (all Cycle Gear house brands), but their prices seem to still be good and their customer service just proved itself to be awesome. I miss Anthony though.... 'watch, decide and ride'.

...and here are the pictures we have all been waiting for....

I went to dismount the tire today and it was completely flat. Here are the images of the failure site. The inner carcass of the tire was completely gone. The longitudinal steel belts seemed to be intact, but the transverse belts were broken and the outer rubber is exposed to the inner chamber of the tire. No debris and no signs of any impact or puncture. Friggin scary!

Tire goes back to revzilla tomorrow... not sure that I will get a final report but I hope they take this seriously!

Wow, that's odd.

With the failure/missing cords, it makes flat repair (where you slightly open the hole for a puncture) with a "combo plug / patch", something to avoid for a permanent repair.

Reflective stripe installed on rear wheel (ran out of tape, fronts will be done this week)

Just need to clean and adjust chain and change oil....

What is there to "rehearse" at an wedding, which is basically an overrated black tie party?

Have the attendees not been to any social gathering before, so they need to "rehearse" or else they would be acting like jungle savages, eating like dogs out of dog bowls, scratching themselves like monkeys, using plates like hats, etc?

Or the "rehearsal" is similar to a theatre play rehearsal, where attendees are learning how to fake acting in a certain way (let me guess- the way Hollywood pictures the "perfect" wedding)? If it's the latter, why don't they call it "wedding enactment" or "wedding play" or "fake tv wedding"?

And do the attendees usually "gift" enough money to cover for all this "fun", or it's money out of the groom's/bride's pocket (or worse, a loan)?

These questions might seem as idiotic as asking "why is the water wet" but here in Eastern Europe it's (luckily) still very uncommon to see this kind of wedding format...

Not MY rehearsal, that was over 40 years ago Son getting married. I have 2 boys but the wife is acting like the mother of the bride!

Traditional weddings have a rehearsal the night before the actual ceremony. Stuff like....you stand here.....I say this....you reply that.... Afterwards all the participants go to dinner and get drunk. At least some of will get drunk

I took only a semester of psychology, but I think you might have issues
