Re: Cyl 1 & 4 = no spark

Thank you for the information on the switching transistors. I've always assumed there were switching transistors for the coil operation but did not know if they were serviceable.
Anyone have an old or toasted ECU they'd volunteer to send me? I'd like to see if it would be possible for forum members to repair that section using better rated transistors.
That does seem to be the common failure.
Do you want me to send you my old one Cliff?
I sourced a second hand EU unit.
My regulator rectifier was also replaced along with a coil.
So to cut a long story short the ECU was broken.

I don't think it would be an advantage being I would not be able to test it on a US bike. I if did have serviceable transistors and they were the problem, I could replace them and send it back to you. :)
