April 2012 Scavenger Hunt

The rules are easy.
I post a list.
Participants ride their bike to a location that fulfills an item on the list.
Take a picture of your motorcycle and your interpretation of the requested item.
Post the picture online.
At the end of the month, I observe and pass judgement.

Simple, right?

Well... yeah, it’s easy to finish. To win? Not so much.

Just because you have all the items does not mean you will win.

A creative picture will weigh more heavily in the judging than a simple snapshot.

Unless otherwise noted, all photos will be worth one point.

There will be extra points available for combinations.

There will be extra points available for completing and posting on specific dates.



April is the traditional beginning of spring for most of the northern hemisphere.
April is the 4th month and has 30 days. The birthstone is diamond and birth flower is the daisy.
The derivation of April is from the latin “aperire”, meaning ‘to open’. Photographers will notice a similarity to “apertura”.

April has many official and unofficial holidays and observances. Easter, April Fool’s Day, opening day of Major League Baseball to name a few.

April’s List-
1- April Fool. This is a picture of you and your bike. One extra point will be awarded if posted on the 1st.
2- 4th Month. Picture of your bike and the number 4. One extra point will be awarded if posted on the 4th.
3-30 Days. Picture of your bike and the number 30. One extra point will be awarded if posted on the 30th.
4-Diamond.
5-Apertura. Something open.
6-Baseball.
7-Spring.
8-Syrian Independence Day. Anything middle-eastern. One extra point will be awarded if posted on the 17th.
9-4/20. (this one is for the stoners) Smoke or smoke related. One extra point if posted on the 20th.
10-Earth Day.(this one is for the hippies) One extra point if posted on the 22nd.

5 extra point for getting all 10 items.

21 possible points available. Use your imagination and good luck.

What else can us Northern hemisphere people post instead of baseball? I know you Lot call it the world series, you just need to invite the rest of the world.

Hey Eddie, I need a clarification.

You want certain photographs on certain days, correct?

In the scavenger hunt rules, someone has to take a picture for the event and not use a picture you have taken before hand. Does this mean that for the day specific posts that we have to take the pictures on the day of as well?

Just want a clarification so I may not have to ride in the rain (not that i dont mind it, HAHA)

No, pictures need not be taken the same day as posting. But in the spirit of honest competition, don't post photos that were not taken this month.
