i have ridden and owned several bikes overall and there have been some fun ones without a doubt. but it fully depends on what you would want from a bike as to what would be ideal.

as a side note i do know a guy with a hoss, and it can be quite the ride.
i really like that. wish i could talk the wife into that and put on a small top box when wanted. but she just sticks with her tank bag, and makes me bring the goldwing when we need to haul more.

i was a little nervous about it, but i am also a cheap ass and wasnt going to pay to have it done. the labor hours would have been the killer for sure.
i work on all my all my own stuff for the most part esp with cars and have been diving into the bikes more and more.

this is exactly what i did, i just made it myself using an oem one and cutting it down ( drilling and tapping the whole also) but i did this long before a regular option was available for these
Don't make it too pretty, you won't want to ride it! Seriously tho a slightly damaged bike makes the best first bike! Your more focused on riding and paying less attention to " am I gonna scratch it". Because anything that gets used will get scratches!

If you like the ride currently and are looking to just bring the height back up, grab a stock shock and swap the eye at the bottom. I did the exact opposite to lower ours for the wife. I bought used ( being low mile and the same as what was on it I ended up just using it ). Pulled the eye off...
