My neighbor was telling me about this on the weekend and sent me the link to this great little unit! All I can say was where was this when I started all my mods!!! I am VERY tempted to rewire my bike using this unit and spend some time this winter rewiring all my electrical mods into this thing! I've often thought about how nice it would be to have a 12VDC+ bus and a GND bus in one location. This this solves that and then some!!

Fuzeblocks.com has designed a fuse block that is easy to install and fits into a small space. The on board relay offers the choice for any device to be switched on or off automatically with the vehicle or to be powered constantly.

And all for $79.95 (+shipping)

From the Fuseblock-FZ1 web site: FUZEBLOCKS.COM
FAQ section here: FUZEBLOCKS.COM

Simply put switched power is a wire that has 12V on it when the ignition switch is turned on and 0V when the bike is turned off. It's really nothing more than that.

When the ignition switch on the bike is turned on it applies power to many parts of the bike. Which parts depends on what type of bike you have. Most bikes will apply power to running lights, accessories, etc. This type of power is typically referred to as switched power because it turns on when the bike turns on. The FZ-1 needs a signal to know when the bike is on. It needs this to activate the relay that is built into the FZ-1. When the relay is activated it will then power the devices you have in the switched position on the FZ-1.

How Many Devices Can I Hook to the FZ-1?

In a perfect world the answer would be as many as you want.

The FZ-1 can individually fuse up to 6 devices. However, so long as you obey the rules, you can hook more than one device to a circuit. Just remember that the circuit should not exceed 10A and that the total current for all devices should not exceed the fuse that is in place for that circuit.

I like this! Basically what I was trying to do with a relay anyways. You said you can determine which ones run off of switched power? So each terminal/node can be set to either switched or constant? That's a pretty awesome feature!

You got it!. And each terminal/node has it's own individual fuse (you choose the amp rating). Nice having all the fuses for your mods/accesories in one place too!

I am surprised you didn't create your own Boneman :) You can buy a relay for $15 and a bunch of fuses for $3.99 and a couple of terminal blocks for $1.99 and build your own little fuse box for $25

Yes, I hang my head in shame......

Time has become a premium for me, so I'll pay a little more for someone else to do the creating for me!

I was going to head to radio shack to do the same thing this afternoon. I still might though. I really like this product, and think it's a great idea. But I would have to wait for shipping which would mean I couldn't ride this weekend. I might add this on sometime in the winter, or when I need to add more accessories. We'll see, but it was still a great find Boneman!

Btw, was anyone else confused with all the FZ-1 talk for a bit? I kept wondering why it was specific to the Yamaha FZ-1 lol! Then I checked out their site and found out FZ-1 is the model name/number for the fuseblock!

I guess you could make one but that one just looks cool and for a relatively small premium over doing it yourself.

The dimensions look good too: L 3.25" x W 2.5" x H 1.25"

From the name I almost thought it was FZ1 specific :)

I just ordered a bunch of Posi-Tites, Posi-Taps, and Posi-Twists from the posi-lock site. Too bad almost no retailers carry them. I'm going to have to wait a few days at least for shipping. I've heard GREAT things about them and I should have ordered them before I started doing my electrical mods.

I'm going to do some temporary wiring this weekend so I can ride, and then when I get these in I'll set up my distribution block and relay.

That would have been handy to know about - yesterday!!!

My last lot of heated grips when bang trying to install, so I hard wired to the battery. Tried again today with a different set, :cheer: success this time! But I did spend $30- worth of wiring, connectors and fuses, so for not much more I could have had this. Oh well, next time.

If you don't have a relay, don't forget to turn off your grips or you'll end up with a dead battery!!!
