2005 Yamaha FZ6 (updated to new Yamaha naked style) - $3,800

    PHOTOS HERE

    $3,800
Located in North Suburbs Chicago IL

Can't believe I'm selling my bike but here we are. I freaking love this thing! Only reason for selling is I just bought a new bike and don't have space for both of them. Otherwise I would totally keep this beast.

2005 Yamaha FZ6. 33,000 miles. Tons of upgrades and meticulously maintained. I only run premium fuel. I scrub clean and wax the chain every wash. I am the third owner (I purchased it in 2017 totally stock) and I have all service records dating back to 2005 organized in a folder. I performed the naked conversion myself purely out of preference (not because of a wreck or anything!) - I think the bike looks much more modern as it stands. I get tons of compliments on it - everyone thinks it's only a few years old!

This thing is also wicked fast with the 15T sprocket (I still have the 16T which I'll include). The Leo Vince sounds amazing, the best exhaust for this bike in my opinion (bought it brand new in 2017). Here is a sound clip (not my bike but same sound):

List of modifications/upgrades and their associated costs:

    • Leo Vince slip on, custom TIG-welded midpipe w/factory cat - $550
    • FZ6R speedo swap w/shortened harness, custom brazed aluminum mounting bracket - $200
    • FZ1N headlight w/ main beam LED projector and halo, headlight blacked out inside and out, custom stainless fork clamp mounts - $200
    • Italmoto bellypan with custom stainless brackets - $150
    • Ermax rear seat cowl - $140
    • Spencer seat cushion with stock cover - $100
    • Motodynamic sequential signal LED tail light - $90
    • SpeedDRD - $90
    • G2 Throttle Tamer throttle tube - $85
    • 2007 rear swingarm swap - $60
    • BikeMaster Alien Angle LED front turn signals - $60
    • Denali Soundbomb horn custom mounted left side with relay - $60
    • Bar risers 1" up / 1.25" back - $50
    • FZ1 handlebar - $50
    • aluminum black on black levers - $50
    • IDEA green LED gear indicator - $50
    • LuckyBike heavy bar ends powdercoated black - $40
    • Naked mirrors - $40
    • K&N air filter - $30
    • right OEM frame plug - $30
    • black keyless quick-turn gas cap - $30
    • chartreuse green/yellow wheel striping - $30
    • Bar filled with liquid urethane rubber to dampen vibrations - $30
    • ProGrip cruiser gel grips - $20
    • keyless ignition - $20
    • Gloss black ProGrip tank pad - $20
    • Tank grips - $20
    • 15T front sprocket - $20
    • front fork tubes, frame, engine, body, and wheels all painted black
    • Rear fender delete
    • Keyless seat lock
    • DIY lengthened clutch slave lever (easier handle pull)
    • hidden led license plate light on exhaust trim facing front (seriously cool)

Recent maintenance within the last 6 months:

    • rear brake pads replaced
    • throttle body sync
    • new clutch cable
    • new throttle cables
    • oil and filter change
    • coolant flush
    • brake fluid flush
    • weekly chain clean/lube
    • newer Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires, at least a few seasons left in them

*NOTE* - pictured Rizoma mirrors were swapped to my new bike, but I installed FZ-07 mirrors which work great.

Wow that thing is sick. One of the nicest modern looking FZ6s I've seen. The heck did you replace it with??

How hard was that naked mod? I keep digging the fz6 naked.

Thanks man! Wasn't too hard, just took a ton of time. This is what the bike looked like when I bought it last summer:

So yeah, it was a lot of work, but nothing too advanced in my opinion. I would say the hardest part was getting the headlight/speedo combo lined up and mounted correctly.

I replaced it with a 2018 Suzuki GSX-S750. Got a ridiculously good deal from a local dealer so couldn't pass it up. Here's the new one.

Yes, I listed that in the first post, it was upgraded to the 07+ style for looks and ease of chain slack adjustment. Also, the swingarm wasn't painted since it comes black from factory.
