Can anyone ID this part?

I was wrestling with putting "cover 2" back in (the pain in the ass rubber membrane below the battery) and when I was done I found this on the ground. I cant remember ever seeing this part anywhere, can anyone ID it or give a hint where it goes? I'm looking in the service manual now, but it's slow going. Appreciate any help!

Yes, there are vents holes on the frame near the front of the bike. That's a little rubber plug that sits in the hole and points down ward.

I ended up finding it by looking at part diagrams online. These are plugs that go into the front of the inside of the frame, there should be 2.
