  • *grin* dude, i gun it ... have taken flak here before over that ;-)
The valves standard are basically max open, they are now minimum spec open, no next time i'm going to have trouble, valve pads are not kept in stock by anyone ... grrrr.
I honestly wouldn't concern myself yet over them, unless you hearing clatter. It'll be bloody expensive at yamaha, cos it takes quite a while to get the valve cover off. Unless you do it yourself over a weekend, a few hours work maybe. Putting the tappet cover back is a bitch, you'll get the hang of it after the 5th time tho!!! lol
Let me know if you need a spanner monkey ... ;-)

    Whatup?

Glad to see another RSA resident. Can't believe you managed 110,000km already with valves in spec!

I'm on 37,000km, so only 5k to go before I take your advice and do the valves. Been working on the bike myself so no issues there.

Just wondering, do you usually ride it nice and slow or do you gun it? Just curious to find out what I am to expect in the head i.t.o wear and tear.

    Thanks.

    Peace
    Howdy :)
I'll have a word with the guy, should be seeing him before the month end. What is it and what kind of price?
Biggest problem is the exchange rate is REALLY unfavourable to us, but let's see?
    thanks!!
    Hi Mate,
Am I right in thinking that you have connections with a Yamaha dealer in ZA?
If so would you be interested in trying to start a group buy for the single seat humps?
