It's a bit different here in Australia. Most of us get hands on experience and learn on the job. The only other way over here is to go to university to quality as a Quantity Surveyor, or even study to get a Registered Builders ticket.
Maybe you could contact local businesses and see if they have any junior positions going where you could learn with them.
Hi. I didn't go to school for it - learnt on the job. Had a boss who pushed me into it - housing at first, then commercial work. I really love it.

By the way, I love your new bike....
I probably won't be doing any track or drag strip stuff. Not really my kinda thing. I am, however, trying to plan a lap of the western states on the FZ6. We'll see.
Hey Nick, how have you been? I have been cursing the rain lately, as I rode to work a couple nice days last week. Are you planning another track day soon?
B group will be around 1:20 all the way to just shy of 2:00, seriously. That was B group and as you can see, we were passing everyone by a lot.

That was one of my frist track days and my bike was all stock....good chance you'll be faster than that. My avatar picture is from the youtube video (same day) and my profile picture is from 1-year later on North.

If you're stuck with B, no worries, just make sure you get in group 1 within B....you'll still have fun and probably learn a lot. If you can get into I, do it.

make sure you watch some good car and bike vids (ones better than mine) to get a sense of the layout and the lines before going (especially if you're going to be in I).
North w/out a doubt unless they have repaived south. The north is a really awesome circut. One of my youtube vids is of North. People really like that course a lot. South is more of a high-horsepowe point and shoot track and it's bumpy and has a lot of pavement sealer. The north track is smoother, has better turns, and a ton of passing opportunities. If you're running wth STT, sign up for intermediate. looking forward to pics
Awesome! The Magna V30 is a great little bike. A LOT more power than most people realize.
Yes, it is... After the Mod Fest on Saturday but before our test ride, I went out on my daughter's Yamaha C3 scooter in full gear as a comic event. Keira caught a bunch of photos on the camera. :D
LOL! I did put some on the other day. Nice long T-Rex racing sliders. :D Guess I need to put up a new pic! Thanx!
Hey Nick! I do a lot of my own building and it could be anything. I've done an entertainment center, a queen bed, oak bookcases, blanket chests, all sorts. What I've been doing for a couple years now is remodeling the house, taking down walls and putting up others. Since the kids moved out, we decidied to make it a home for two with one guest room. :D The next project is an add-on to the house to create a 6' x 8' mud room. Then I have to finish the MBR closets (All oak then cedar lined) and a built-in dresser right up the middle.

My first grandchild is on the way so I'm going to take simple plans for a rocking horse and mod it! :rof: It'll be the best rocking horse a kid can have! :D

Are you still building? Add a gallery here and post some for sale in the classifieds!
I live about 20 miles from potosi, but usually dont head that way, I go through H highway to Richwoods towards Meramac Springs and what not or towards Cape Girardeau , but im always wanting to ride in new places, Do you ride there alot since your in st loui
Hey Nick. It depends on the state as well as the company offering the track day. Some do, some don't. At Tony's here in NH, they do not require a license. They do have specific requirements about gear and what needs to be removed or taped up on the bike. Check with the event staff that you intend to go to. Ride safe!
Thanks, I am very familiar with him now lol, that was just the first song to make me go country for a bit!
