In my opinion I would go for the undertail system. Your GF will greatly appreciate not having her leg near a very hot exhaust. The really good carbon fiber exhausts are not hot on the tubing but still are hot on the tips. For the undertails it just depends on what you want to spent. Akrapovic and LeoVincent are top of the line. Scorpion and Two Brothers are good as well. There are lots of threads about exhausts if you just search a bit. It's all about what you like and what you're willing to pay to have.
Again, I'd stick to undertail. I think it's a cleaner look and for two up is better IMO.
