  • Hey Blaire,
Hope you're having a great fall riding season, we've had either 90 degree weather or cold, rainy weather here the last week or two. I guess I'll have to start thinking about my winter mod list if this bad weather keeps up. Sorry I haven't sent you a message in a while, things have been kind of crazy around here the last month or so. Have a happy Halloween!
    Cheers, John
    Hi Blair,
My wife and I own a printing company and an eco-friendly hair salon here in the town where we live. Our daughter runs the hair salon for us and I've been printing for 37 years, the last 22 with my own company. As for the clutch, there's some adjustment at the lever with the wheel where the cable goes into the lever. My bike came with Pazzo levers that have 5 different adjustment clicks on them that work great, especially for my short fingers. Hope this helps and have a great weekend yourself!

    Hey Blair,
Sorry I've been slacking posting a message to you, but as you can tell by the ride post things have been busy. I'm just now getting caught up at work after missing last Friday for the ride, which was AWESOME by the way! It lived up to every expectation even with the CJHP episode and dropping my bike at one of our pull outs. I'm goad you had such a great time at the races and I enjoyed the pics you took. Thanks for posting on my Facebook page too.
    Cheers,
    John
    Hey Blair,
Hope you're having a great time at the races. Just wanted to let you know I've re-signed up on my Facebook account. I'm under John Follett. Just finished prepping the bike for the ride down to SoCal next Friday. I had coffee with Chemiker on Thursday to go over our ride routes. Man, am I looking forward to this ride.. it's going to be epic! :BLAA:
Have a great weekend my friend.
    Cheers,
    John
    Hey Blair,
You must be getting pretty amped about the races next week. I kind of wish I had gone to the MotoGP races at laguna a couple of weeks ago and fought the crowds.
I'm getting ready to head to L.A. in 2 weeks to ride with the guys down there and I'm pretty excited about that.
I'm hoping to hook up with Vegasrider, Krid80 and Lonesoldier tomorrow as they ride through from Monterey. I'm trying to ride down to Monterey, maybe with DefyInertia in the morning and ride back up north through the Santa Cruz Mtns.
Have a great weekend my friend and I'll talk to you soon.
    Cheers,
    John
    Hey Blair,
Nope sorry, I'm not a Facebooker.. I was for a while but it just wasn't my cup of tea. My wife and daughters are on facebook all the time and I start to give my wife grief about it when I remember that I'm on the FZ forum more than she's on facebook. :spank:
Your trip to the races sounds like it'll be a blast. I haven't been to races for a long, long time. I'm glad Cali rider is hooking us up with some speedway racing when we're in SoCal in a few weeks. :BLAA:
Have a great weekend, and ride safe.
    Your bud,
    John
    Hey Blair,
Happy Friday, hope you've got fun stuff planned for the weekend.
I'm spending the next three days wearing out the rest of my tire tread before I get new tires on Monday, changing the oil in my forks and watching MotoGP racing. You might say it's going to be a m/c weekend!
    Have a great weekend.
    John
    Hey Blair,
Hope you're having a great weekend and getting a chance to go riding. The in-laws just left for the airport so my life can get back to (ab)normal. Luckily I had that ride with Wavex and CaliRider on Thursday to get some of my serenity back. Going to CG this afternoon to get oil and a new tank pad and to get out of the house for awhile. Have a great week.
    Your bud,
    John
    Happy 4th of July Blair,
Everything's kind of crazy here at the moment. My sister-in-law and her husband are here and staying with us for 10 days. And my mother-in-law arrived yesterday from Washington and immediately ended up in the ER with chest pains. Got released this afternoon after getting checked out but along with the 20 or so of the wife's relatives coming tomorrow for a bbq we're just a little frazzled. I got so overwhelmed today that I just had to get out for a 100 mile ride in the car, leo, bike crowded Hwy's 35/9/84 for a couple of hours. I'm working on the same riding technique's as you lately. Counter steering though corners, good lines going in and out of corners, body position and relaxing on the bar input. You're right about not having to go fast to practice. Go figure, are we actually getting wiser in our old age or what? ;) Have yourself a happy and safe 4th and I'll talk to you soon.
    Your California buddy, John
    Hey Blair,
Good hearing from you my friend. Sorry to hear about your aunt but your other events sound like fun even though it sounds like you were a traveling fool for the last month.:D I'm glad to hear you're out riding alot. I've worn out a copy of the original "Twist of the Wrist" from reading it so much. I've been riding quite a bit, went on a 9 hour 400 mile ride with DefyInertia last Sat. to the Sierra foothills down to Yosemite and back. My sister-in-law and her husband are coming next Thurs. for a 10 day stay with us and my wife's family (30 of them) are coming over on the 4th for a bbq. Needless to say, when I'm not riding I'm working in the yard or around the house. I am sneaking out for one last group ride on Sunday through the so. and east bay hills...:spank: Have a great weekend and ride safe!
    Cheers,
    John
    Happy Friday Blair,
Hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to a great weekend. Weather is warming up here finally, in the 80's this weekend and I'm planning on a group ride Sunday through some of our east bay hills. Went on my first group ride last Sunday to the Santa Cruz mountains with about 50 other bikes. It was great fun and well organized. Have a great weekend buddy,
    John
    Hey Blair,
Just checking in to wish you a good riding weekend. Hopefully you'll be able to get out on the road this weekend. I almost went for a ride this afternoon but saw thunder clouds up in the twisties above my house and decided to clean house instead. Good thing too, I read in the local m/c forum that the LEO's were out in force on the roads I usually burn up during the week. Whew! Anyway have a great weekend buddy.

    Good morning Freak,
Thanks for the kudos on my rides last weekend. The 300 mile was my longest to date and I had been really looking forward to it. It was great except the last 120 miles or so when I had to slab it home. I think the key was riding interesting roads and stopping every 30-45 minutes to stretch my legs and butt. I'm already planning my next long ride.
My wife really enjoys riding with me, although she would much rather be riding her own bike if she had one right now. She's an awesome passenger, knowing how to go with the leans and stuff in the corners. The only problem she had was sliding around on my Corbin seat that I had cleaned to make slippery for my hanging off when I wear my leathers. Not so good for her. I should have put the back rest back on the seat before we left but I was too lazy. Anyway, we're going to give it another go with the passenger seat stickied up and the back rest installed and see how it goes.
    Have a good one,
    John
    Hey Blair,
I was just thinking today that I haven't spoken to you in over a week. Man don't you just hate it when either the weather is crummy during "riding season" or personal commitments spring up and get you off your bike? It's been that way for me lately until this last weekend. I finally put my foot down and took on no obligations Saturday and went on a 300 mile ride that took me on some awesome new roads. It was a spectacular ride even though I almost lost it twice due to gravel in corners and a zillion bugs splattering me and the FZ. Then I followed that ride up with a little 70 miler with my wife along on the back for the first time Sunday. She's a great passenger but she kept slipping all over the seat since I had just leather creamed it a week ago so I could slide around.. Well buddy, get out there on your bike as soon as the weather allows!
Thanks for shooting me a message and getting me off my lazy butt. :spank:
Have a great rest of the week.
    Cheers,
    John
Got it buddy, thanks! Contemplating a ride at the moment..just a little tired after hiking 18 holes this morning. Have a great rest of the weekend.
    John
    Howdy Blair,
Yup, that's a picture of me in 1987 at Keith Code's Superbike School at Laguna Seca. I found the picture and my diploma while going through some stuff in the garage. That's about the time I tried my hand at amateur road racing for a couple of years. Great fun, got to go to alot of tracks around California. So what's up with this rain we're getting? It spoiled my weekend too, but I did manage to get some garage cleaning done though. This weekend looks really good and I'm planning a longish ride on Saturday, maybe up to the Gold Country north of Yosemite. Hopefully you'll get out and put some miles on the 'ol FZ.
    Your bud,
    John
    Hey Blair,
Funny how that 100 miles just sneaks up on you before you know it! My 175 mile ride surprised me when I got home and checked the odometer. Some days my butt hurts but other days it feels like I could ride for miles and miles. :D I just got my new fan in last night and got 35 miles in before I had to call it a night. Man I missed my bike while it was down. Looking forward to this weekend though.. Glad you're out riding.
    Cheers,
    John
