Post Could BMW Add a 1800cc Boxer to its Engine Lineup?

A Big Engine for a Touring Machine There are images of an intricate custom motorcycle being showcased at many different places around the Web. Re: Could BMW Add a 1800cc Boxer to its Engine Lineup?

The "birdcage" frame intrigues me, but an 1800cc motor, in any bike, I find ridiculous. That's 90% of the engine that was in all my Saabs, and in my (recently purchased) Audi, a 4,000 lb car that scares me with its acceleration.
I replaced my beloved Fizzer with a BMW 1200 (more for legroom than anything) and I think that's too much engine for a bike, too. Really wish someone would build around an 800cc, tall, shaft-drive bike that covered the bases like BMW's GS line does; that would be the perfect bike for me. I think.
