Up until this week I only did oil and filter changes myself and took my 05 FZ6 to the shop for other maintenance. After reading the excellent how-to instructions on this site and the SBN site I decided to change my own air filter and spark plugs, which I did. The bike seems to run fine, but there is now a very strong gas smell. I did have quite a hard time with the plugs and I am not confident that I have the plug wires seated properly. Any thoughts?

I'd double check to make sure the hoses from the bottom of the tank and around the injectors are where they should be. I'm no expert mechanic but if there's no obvious missing in the engine I would first do a visual and make sure I didn't forget to reconnect something. Even if a spark plug is cross threaded it will still fire and seal the combustion chamber.
