Yup...another person doing this mod!

The paint is drying! I'll do a complete how-to for this mod when it is finished, because I didn't find a good how-to on which bolts to undo (although the service manual shows how to do it) so I'll do it for those without one!

w0000 super excited...and yes...pics will come.

How To:

1. Get Supplies
a. Tools (wrench, socket wrench, bike tool kit), paint, soda or beer.
2. Remove seat
3. Remove side pods (unhook rear taillight)
4. remove rear handlebars
5. remove exhaust cover
6. sand cover with 320 sand paper, rub with tack cloth.
7. Paint cover with a few coats of paint. Follow directions of your paint.
I also painted the actual muffler tips too...
8. Allow to dry (too soon and you'll scratch the paint)
9. Reverse the process and put it back together!

Here are some pics!

Hehe, looks nice  So you are going to paint the rear hugger yourself? Let us know what paint/color you end up using.

Looking forward to it

I keep looking at all the silver on my bike and I want to paint it but I feel like you have to do all or nothing.

well, personally I like having the silver rearsets...but everything else can be blacked out...oh, and keeping the bolts silver too...I saw red somewhere on the site, but wasn't a fan...maybe white?
