Hi Guys / Girls,

Have any of you attempted to repair seams that have shown signs of wear?
I have a Hein Gericke jacket that has started to fray at the cuff seams.
I have some super strong silk thread and I am pretty good at sewing.
What would you guys do.

Second part of my question is do any of you use a leather nourisher on you jackets? My jacket is a year old this weekend and it is looking pretty grubby.
I have had a look at Doorag's thread :

Nothing on maintaining the leather.

Your help as always is much appreciated.

Good idea Nelly. I am watching too. I think taking my jacket to the shoe hacky to have the seam that came apart resewn is the best bet for me. There is a whole-nother layer of leather under the seam and then the elbow armor.

My pants are the only part to suffer repairs. I have the mesh pants but tore one leg and patched it myself with some black fabric (I have my own sewing machine, she has one plus an embroidery machine and a serger) and now, after getting too close to her old S40 exhaust, melted a portion of the mesh on the other leg. So, I have to patch THAT leg, plus I am replacing the front zipper with sewn-in mesh since the zipper stay busted and it won't stay zipped.
