I recently bought an used ohlins shock from ebay UK.
Auction end price is around $420.

But seller and product catalogue says it fits Fz6 S2 version.

Do you think it fits my 2005 S1 Fz6?

Thanks for the info.
Today i found a package at my door.
It looks pretty cool.
And much more thicker than i expected.
I guess it is bigger than original shock.

I hope i can install it soon without any trouble...

It came with an extra pipe that i don't know what is it for.
Any idea?

I don't know what's the difference between gas pressured shock and hydrolic shock.

OEM and that are both Nitrogen filled and both are hydraulic (oil filled). The gas is against a bladder to keep the oil under constant pressure to keep the oil from foaming for consistent operation while it heats and cools.

That steel bushing looks like a stock OEM lower bushing. It goes through a roller bearing in the OEM shock. A bolt retains the bushing in the swing arm.
Top is R1, bottom stock FZ6.
Left side of this picture shows the roller bearing.

However, it looks like you may need to order a part to swap out the lower bushing in that shock to one like the OEM. Its hard to tell from the picture. Why? Because that bushing is goes through a hole in the swing arm. A single bolt won't do. See picture:

FWIW:
I had an Ohlins but it wasn't configured to fit our bike. Your's looks like it should work with the proper end.

notice the difference in the lower end of this one compared to the one you have. Anyway - the swing arm has a big hole on one side and a small hole just big enough for the bolt on the other side. The side NOT SHOWN in any of the pictures I provided.

Still couldn't time time to install the new shock. I guess the sleeve won't fit my bike. It looks that it's too long to fit.

Can someone tell me the length of this sleeve picture below?
An other member's shock with the right sleeeve.

Thanks Cali.
Seller told me that the shock fits with the original sleeve. No need for an extra sleeve.
We'll see...

Today i pulled the trigger for the shock installation.

Unfortunately the sleeve which came with the shock is far too long. (Same size as original collar)
it should go to a machine shop :(

Dummer. You'll really enjoy the shock. Have you done R6 forks yet?

An engineering question:

What if i use a longer bolt with that collar instead of cutting the collar?

I installed the shock today.
Machine shop cut the long collar for fitment.
Feels very responsive.
But i should learn how to adjust it.

No need to cut that plastic tray for that little bottle.
