Recording too many miles

Hi all... I've just had a peek at my odometer this morning after resetting the trip - noticed my bike has recorded almost 12000 miles, thats 6000 miles in 3 months!! I bought the bike in Feb with 6k on the clock, no way on this planet have i done that many miles - any suggestions anyone?

The last time I looked at it was about a month ago and it was showing around 7200miles. The 2nd trip which I never reset shows 2000 miles which would show what I've done since I bought it....

When restting the trip I accidentely changed it to Kilometers :BLAA:
