So we have all been there, we bought the fz6, rode and enjoyed stock components for 6 maybe 7 months and then had to buy something new and shiny for it to keep you happy.

What mods started you off and where have you ended up?

For me I started with a Beowulf aftermarket exhaust which shaved some weight and made it sound like an r6 :)

Then for some wider bars..

And this month I decided I wanted more braking performance and I forked out for some ebc HH sintered pads, boy what a difference they make!

Next on my list I'm thinking some new levers..

The slope is getting slippery!

Huh let's see I bought the bike it had a home made tail tidy, and some sliders well I needed rim tape duh,
Did that and a k&n filter bought some 2 wheels levers and fz1 bars and. A puig screen .

Layed it Down and then repaired it, bought the fazer6 kit and 2 wheels brake turn signals also did a motodynamic tail light at the same time. Cut up my rear hugger put some fz6 stickers on the swingarm also bought milessova's frame plug kit put a buckle colored chain and rear black sprocket, did I mention the dual head light bd43 mod and just put some smoked flush turn signals on the front.

Next is set back plates and r6 pod lights I also have power bronze lower fairings in the closet.

Wow too much I need to stop

YOU guys did! I paid $5,500 for my '07, in '07 (used, with 1,400 miles) Since then, I've paid $137,600.47 on mods and improvements, and it's all YOUR fault!
I expect full financial restitution from you all, thanks to this thread.

Buying a new car, seriously! I bought a new car that had HID headlights, and since I ride a lot at night, I NEEDED them for my bike. After doing the wiring for the headlights I had more confidence in my wiring abilities and added a motodynamic tail light and spliced into my existing signals for dual turn signals.

The end result? Not a single stock light exists on my bike, but visibility is better than stock! :D

Future mods include ss brake lines and maybe FZ1 bars, but that's it for me!

I have modified strictly for functionality.

#1: I bought frame sliders before I even put 1 mile on my bike!

#2: HID projectors - so I can actually see at night!

#3: Exhaust - So I can listen to the engine! :BLAA:

Those are the 3 most important mods in my book, the bike is pretty close to fitting all my needs for it with those 3 mods. Total mod cost: $850.

Bought her used, she was a bit rough. Didn't wait long to start modding:

BD43 Headlight mod
Leo Vince exhaust
Fender eliminator
Rizoma rear turn signals
LED license plate lights
LED Tail light
FZ1 Handlebars
Rizoma grips
90 degree tire valve stems
Powder coated headers
Battery tender hookups
OES Sliders
LED flush mount front turn signals
HID headlight conversion
Puig Windscreen
Replace damaged plastics (rash from previous owner)
Replace stator cover (rash from previous owner)
Brake light modulator
LED Pod turn signals
Tires

So far about $1900 give or take. Don't tell the Mrs! :BLAA:

It was the somewhat hokey look of the FZ - the stock ones have an identity crisis.

Miho(my FZ6): Am I a sport bike?
Me: Nope
Miho: Am I naked?
Me: Not really
Miho: So, what am I?
Me: Kinda ugly, time to fix that.

Started by fixing the conflicts between the 04/05 and 06 model that I have, painting silver parts black. Then took off her ugly half fairing. Realized that I couldn't see for shi+ at night, so I have her a bright new projector HID, and while I was at it, integrated taillight and signals. Did some more paint work, chopped her tire hugger a bit sportier and painted that too.

Then we had another conversation -
Miho: So now am I a naked sportbike?
Me: Nope
Miho: Why?
Me: Bars - too upright, I'll give you clip ons baby, you're worth it.

Gave her clip ons, lowered forks, she loves diving into turns, handles like a dream, but still.

Miho: Am I now?
Me: Nope, you sound like a weed eater, we need to let your 600ccs breath.

So my current project is fabbing together a new set of pipes for her, taking some 16 dollar glass packs and either having a muffler shop make a Y pipe, or getting a cheap welder and doing it myself.

Then I'll be able to tell her that she is truly a naked "Japanese Screamer" as my aunt once said. And a sexy one at that.

My unplanned off is what started my mods. At this point I don't even remember what all I put on it. I think new handlebars and grips were the first for me out of necessity.

I know I had
HID Projectors from TRS (sold to someone on here actually)
A FE kit
FZ6 stickers from someone on here
A modded seat from here
Rizoma handlebars
Rizoma Grips
Rizoma LED turn signals
Lowering springs front and back
Integrated tail light
Painted a bunch of stuff on it
I had finished making my exhaust cans, and just needed the y pipe when I went down

Then I went to a
Ducati Monster 696 (burned my wife's legs)
VStar 1100 (Boring)
VFR 800 (Nice, but I traded it for a 250 for my wife to learn on)
Now to my GSX-R750

I want to get back on a VFR if I can. They're nice bikes. And I kind of miss just cruising on the cruiser, but not enough for it to be my only bike.

I bought mine a month ago (only 1300 mi) and the seller had already installed the following:

Two Bros exhaust (included fender elim)
handlebar risers
Puig db windscreen
battery tender lead
PR2's

Since then I have done the following:

P1X silencers
clear tank protector
foam grips
17t sprocket

My wish list:

FZ1 bars
hard luggage and tank bag
bd43 mod and mount my PIAA 1100's from my R1100RT

My goal is to have a nice commuter not a track bike.
