Tail / Brake Light? Am I being silly?

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2004 FZ6 Fazer I just noticed today when I started up by bike that looking on from the rear there is no light apart from the plate light.. Now there is meant to be a tail light that runs when the engine is on no??

The brake light is working when I pull either brake, but no sign of any other light.. I checked the parts catalogue and its only one bulb in there.. Is it meant to stay on when the engine is running? Does the one bulb do two jobs?

Im just paranoid and cant find out any info..

Ya it should be 1 bulb with two filaments inside 1 for the tail light and the other for the brake light. Most likely the tail light filament is burnt out. try a new bulb.

Also when you replace that lamp try to get the OEM lamp instead of the standard 1157 replacement. The OEM has an extra physical bridge internally that gives the lamp longer life and I believe it is a brighter lamp than a standard 1157.

Happened to me on my '08. New bulb fixed it. It's actually a really simple one to replace.
